    Default Rockstar: Van Halen???

Well, well...at the end of the broadcast last night, Brooke Burke says there will be another "Rockstar" show. Which big band in this wonderful world needs a new lead singer? I made a short list...Van Halen, Queen..LOL. The show was pretty popular..and we all know VH could use some good press. I'm sure it would be a stretch, and Eddie and Alex don't really seem like the type to do something like this. But then again, did anyone ever see this coming with INXS? Like VH, INXS had a run as one of the biggest bands in the world. The "Kick" album and subsequent world tour were huge. Anyway, I'd like to see this...it really could change the public perception of VH..for the better. Again, I don't think Eddie and Alex would do it...but...

i am one of two people on this board then who would LOVE to see this!!
it would be HUGE for the network, which i dont give a shit about, but if Ed could get himself together for an hour a night, it would be just incredible,,..and they could audition a new bass player in the house band every week as well!!i think it would revive their career with the mainstream easily..

if queen did this, it would be a no-brainer, but they have the perfect lead-in.."Mig returns to try again, but this time, for the band he imitated on broadway..and he would fit queen very well i think..

    i'd watch that as well..

how about Navarro's band, whoever that is these days...i tell you this,..i used to think navarro was an ass, but now i actually like the guy.

who else could do this, regardless of how good/bad it would be for their rep....?

Why, cause they might get big again? Or cause it's not "cool"? Well..it's sure a helluva lot cooler than sitting around, getting loaded everyday, making music for "me and my brother" and letting your fans have nothing. It sure would be a shame to see VH get more popular wouldn't it?

hell yes, ATLEAST that would ensure atleast one more cd. but it would be funny as hell to see VH in the chairs watching, Mikey eating some nacho's with his MA sauce on the table, chasing it with some Cabo Wabo ( hiding that bottle from Al ) & Ed with a bottle of wine...chooo choo, here comes the trainwreck...
Sam, Dave,Gary... who cares. its all about what makes you feel good.

Yes, you are precicely one of the TWO.

I simply cannot fathom any self-respecting fan of rock and roll supporting this idea. It's EMBARRASSING.

Van Halen still "Officially" has a singer, don't they? At least that's what their "Official site" is showing on the main page...Sammy with the boys...

now this is a post with some reasoning and logic, even if it was smartly masked in sarcasm. well done Tulsa, i couldnt agree more!!

people are worried about reputations or what?i guess you'd prefer no music?

any VH fan who doesnt want to see this needs to look at themselves and wonder what the hell they are saving the band for and from..?

what the fuck is so embarrassing?

I think the show is dumb, no offense to the folks here that like it. I stay out of that thread in Music Only for a reason. Once I saw one of the singers do an unplugged version of Hit Me Baby One More Time, I pretty much had enough.

    It's Sam or Dave, period.

Yes, I would. We already have a massive catalog to enjoy for the rest of our lives. I'd prefer the next few generations of music fans not to think of VH as a joke or a gimmick. This kind of stunt would distort the original soul of the band far beyond recognition.

    Amen brother.

If given the choice of Van Halen calling it quits or "Rockstar-Van Halen"

    Then yes, call it quits.

The problem is not a matter of Sam or Dave NOT wanting to be in Van Halen, it's a matter of Eddie's health.

If Ed got healthy, then they wouldn't NEED to do a stupid ass show like this, they would probably have Sammy and if not then DAVE.
