    Default Phase shifter question

I'm really loving these new stomp boxes. Mostly I am using the Delay and the Phase shifter. I am starting to realize that on the first album Eddie must have been using the phase shifter a lot more than I ever realized. Now that I am playing with one I am getting a sound that seems a lot closer to his guitar sound then ever before. Not just for eruption either. What percent of the guitar parts on that first album do you think had the phase shifter for the guitar part?

For the guys playing the EVH MXR phase shifter, where do you usually set the dial. I had it at about 12 oclock and it was too much so I backed it down to about 10 oclock and I like the sound there.

Sorry for all my posts but these new toys have really got me geared up so to speak.

    Thanks in advance.

eddie used the phase 90 on every solo on the first album. and on the intro to atomic punk.

he used it(phase 90) on most solos up to the fair warning album, but it is most prevalent on vh1 and vh 2.

if you listen to old bootleg recordings from 76 to 78 he uses the phase 90 quiet a bit on song intros and rythmn parts as well.

i usually set mine at 7 to 8 oclock.

    It's just a great f*cking pedal if you're a VH fan.

I think it's WORTH the small amount of extra cash to have the tripped-out paint job, Eddie's endorsement, that badass blue LED, and the two "modes" (script/modern).

I don't think it's "better" than any other high quality phase pedal, or even MXR's Phase 90, but it's got it's own mojo. I love it.

I never go higher than 8 o'clock for VH sounds. Anything is still an awesome sound, but not reminiscent of VH.
