    Default Eddie: #1

Seeing that there's a topic about a Internet poll on who everyone thinks is the greatest guitarist, I bought Hit Parader's Top 100 Guitarist issue to see who they put down and Eddie made number one. But the list itself is laughable in a way. Don't worry though, it's Rory Gallagher free. Here it is:

"Laughable in a way" is putting it lightly. What serious music magazine misspells Rik Emmett's name - or ranks him behind someone from Linkin Park?????

I've never ever taken Hit Parader seriously, back in the day and now. For me it was always Circus, Creem and Kerrang.

But oh well. At least Edward's no. 1 somewhere.

Putting Ed at #1 and making the top ten a veritable "Who's who?" of guitarists is the one thing this list got right.

I'm sorry.....Lita Ford has never proven to me that she commands the axe. Bonnie Raitt plays circles around her. And the fact that Eric Johnson goes unmentioned at all......gimme a break!

Well I didn't wanna mention anything about Lita, but now that you mention it..............................

Her singing is more like yelling, and she's great posing with a guitar. But as far as actually playing the thing, well, I've actually never seen her do that.

But I guess her heart is in the right place as far as her music and her dedication to rock. But that's about it.

I would've ranked the guitarists on the list alittle different; I don't know what they used to rank them.

    I agree tho.

The Edge before Nuno, Jake, Warrem, Rik Emmett? How is that possible? Wait a minute, how is the Edge even in the top 100 guitarists? Maybe if they were referring to his wide variety of Ski hats...

It is really insulting that The Edge even made the list, no way he is better than Nuno!

Steve Vai wrote one song with Ozzy on the OZZMOSIS album called "My Little Man." However, Steve didn't record the song with Ozzy, Zakk did. From what i remember Ozzy might have been trying to woo Steve to join the band back then because Zakk was busy with other projects at the time.

In regards to the rest of the list; any "list" that would put Mick Mars higher up than Steve Howe is a complete sham...even if they did get the number 1 spot correct!
