Why No Official VH Concert Video with DLR?

Does anyone know why VH never released a concert video with Diamond Dave?

You mean YOU don't have "VAN HALEN , LIVE WITH A NET, filmed in OLD HALEN, CT.?"

The video craze was just getting going when Dave left/was fired.
But there must be some good material out there in addition to the Oakland '81 show.
There must be some shit SOMEWHERE from the 1984 tour.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

You'r joking, right? I got it, but that show is with Sammy. How did Largo, Argentina, Brazil the US fest ever hit the street? Were they boots or officially released from VH?

There are not any official full length concert videos from the Dave era. I believe the three videos from the Oakland 81 show are the only official live videos released with Dave on the mic. Not 100% sure, but I think those are it.

All of the other shows you have mentioned are bootleg shows. They might have been intended for release but for some reason never were.

The Brazil shows are probably my personal favorite. Their rendition of "Beer Drinker's and Hell Raiser's" is reason enough to have it in my book.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I'm not 100% sure but i think the US Festival was supposed to be released but the Record Lable did not think that it was a good enough performance.

They had a pretty good track record for NOT releasing filler/stop-gap/
failsafe material when Dave was in the band (i.e. no Best Ofs, live albums,
etc.). DD notwithstanding. I'm sure the Redheads will say it's cuz Dave
sucked live. They might be right.

Well well well...Yez yez yez...Yez Yeah...Yallah...Oooooh well well...

Eddie, Alex, and Michael don't want/never wanted an official VH Concert Video with DLR released because it would eclipse Van Hagar and Van Extreme in such an awesome way that the band would HAFF TO bring Diamond Dave back as quarterback nah yez yez. 'Nuff said.

I think its due more to the fact that they just can't be fucked releasing anything.

I believe Ed and Al have stated numerous times the reason they haven't released any polished old footage is 'cause they just weren't happy with Dave's live performances. Could be BS, could be semi-accurate, although surely there were a FEW recorded concerts that should've passed editing muster.

But there's no denyin'....Dave in the studio with Ted? Smokin'. Dave live? Overall, hit and miss, lots of improv, lots of onstage hijinks, less proficiency in the singing, especially in the later years. Too bad there was no such thing as digital recording back when they were playing Sunset. Now THAT would be some epic footage. Given that Ed tends to focus on the musicianship over the image, and his first frontman the opposite, it's little wonder archived DLR era video has yet to surface.

If you can get your hands on the boys live in Sao Paolo in 83, fuck an official release. Dave is great at that show.

I still think Largo's the best boot out there, in terms of Dave's performance.

Yea, but you gotta hear Largo 1980. That is one bad ass show.
