Default I might as well start it...

Who should be the "new" vocalist?

Obviously, a total unknown's probably not going to happen, and David Lee Ralph is just so fucking obvious that it will never work, so some ideas to kick around:

    Eric Martin
    Doug Pinnick
John Corabi (I think he'd be fucking awesome..check out The Scream CD)
    Eric Dover
    Mike Matejevic
    David King
Devin Townsend (brilliant singer...but crazier than Ed)
    Damon Johnson (Brother Cane)
    Matt Kramer (Saigon Kick)
Dave Meniketti (Can do the Sammy thing...kinda)
Ian Thornley (Big Wreck...so much better than his record companies have allowed anyone to hear)

There...some grist upon which y'all may chew.

Thoughts on any of these guys?

They should just do a 'Rockstar' or something.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

The different lead singer on each tune seems to pay dividends for Santana. But for me it's got to be either Dave or Sammy!

    My 2 cents:

Who should be the "new" vocalist?

Eric Martin Would be a nice fit. Can't imagine him taking them to another level.
Doug Pinnick No. Can't see it happening, but not the worse suggestion.
John Corabi Interesting. Should be able to handle both era's with class.
    Eric Dover Who?
    Mike Matejevic What?
David King Is this the ex-North Melbourne footballer. I guess he's not doing much now that he's retired, but I didn't know he could sing.
Devin Townsend Different type of singer. More suited to a heavy metal band.
Damon Johnson (Brother Cane) Never heard of him
Matt Kramer (Saigon Kick) Never heard any of their stuff
Dave Meniketti Is this a real name or did you just make it up
Ian Thornley No idea who you are talking about

Kingy's pipes sounded the best around the 99 season.
They won the flag that year so he had plenty of practice in nailing the high notes of "Join In The Chorus And Sing It One And All".

Excellent point. He was actually on the coaching staff with the Tiges last year, so he wouldn't have had too many opportunities to unleash those golden vocal chords recently. Don't know if he's still with them this year.

Default Is it that time already??

I don't know about some of those names you mentioned. But Dave Meniketti's work with Y&T is awesome. And not to get too much off track, but they're FINALLY releasing Black Tiger and Mean Streak on cd.

Well I'm looking forward to it.

BTW - I know we're about due for another one of these topics, but this is just too crazy to even think about.

    Since Sunya's not here: *Sigh*
