My first marriage was to be performed in a church (she insisted). When we met with the church organist, I requested The Everly Brothers "Let It Be Me".

This smarmy woman announced to me that she could not play the song. I stepped to the keyboard, told her it was in "C" and showed her how to play the tune.

She then said: "I'm sorry, but the Everly Brothers are not sacred."

I was dumbfounded by our lord's musical critism.

Needless to say this statement greatly infuriated me, to the point of me walking out in a rage and leaving the arrangements to my first wife to be.

Day of the wedding, the song was not played...yet the shrew of an organist was standing in the foyer, demanding payment as we left the church for our honeymoon.

I wised up for my second marriage, however...mrs.chef and I got married in the grocery store we both worked at (Whole Foods), leaving God and his questionable musical tastes completely out of the equation.

Life's eternal question has been answered.

God is a smarmy, female church organist!

But which church? The Chef knows, the rest of us just ponder. You know, too much information and all...

Nice to see you again, Glenn, you've been missed.

I just got married in November, and as the minister said "you may now kiss the bride. . ." the intro to VH's "Dreams" started, then we turned and he said "I'm now proud to introduce Mr. & Mr. Doyle. . " as the drums kicked in.

It was awesome, and I get a rush of adrenaline just thinking about it.

    Thank you, sir.

No wedding song for me. We were married in my parents backyard overlooking a lake, by a Justice of the Peace.

Most churches want sacred music which is understandable. During Communion for mine, my wife's cousin (Dave) was going to play something that he composed himself. That is what we told the pastor. Dave ended up playing 'Wonderful Tonight' but a little bit differently. Plus, he added a few little goodies like tapping out a nice outro.

For our wedding song at the reception it was, 'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)' by Bryan Adams.
