    Pro Val Thread!

I for one think Valerie was good for Van Halen.
It has been said in many interviews that she helped to ground Eddie.
She is gorgeous, nice and has a very good reputation.

He is a genious and as reported, an alcoholic.

She probably gave him something to base a somewhat normal life on.

Since she has been gone, there has been no Van Halen the rock band.
Except a half assed reunion tour where I witnessed the worst Eddie guitar playing I have ever seen and a few half assed songs on greatest hits releases.

She said in an interview it is a fool who knows what he has to do and doesn't do it. I infered she meant for Eddie to get clean.

What a waste- I for one hope he finds someone or something again to help him. When he is on his game, there is no match for the music of Edward Van Halen!

Here is to Valerie and a wish for a happy New Year!

Christ on a cracker...another Val thread.

Attention, all dim bulbs: Get out of people's personal lives.

Stop speculating on shit you know nothing about.

If one owns the band's recorded out put, has seen them live, purchased merchandise, or owns copies of bootleg performances...what more is needed?

You don't own these people...and they owe you nothing outside of what they have provided in culture.

Put more emphasis upon your own lives...the scrutinity will be far less brutal, yet maybe more needed.

    Chi-Town,

Speculate away, dude. It's still a free country the last I heard.

Only thing I have to say is that she probably deserves a little
    peace in her later years.

I'm still sad that it didn't work out for them. I had my hopes that they'd reconcile but had no idea they were separated for so long.

Why wait so long to file for divorce?? Somethin's up.

They probably separated as a trial and error sort of deal, then I'm guessing he got worse, or unchanged, and then she signed on the dotted line. So I doubt anything's up, but Ed for a bottle of wine.

I did, too, as most probably did...I'm sure the temptations of being #1ROCKGUITARGODSUPREMO had its negative impacts on the relationship. I have no doubt they still love each other on some deep level, but I fear that Ed's alcoholism has skeeewed all that was Nirvana with those two...

Pro Val?? Yeah, I'm looking into starting up VBertlinks.com right now.
I'm quite certain it will be one of the hottest message boards out there!! Please, who knows what the hell went on in their marriage?? It is a shame they broke up but hey, guess what, 60% of marriages end in divorce!! Grow up folks, I'm quite certain Ed can handle it, I mean jump ropin' Jesus, he is a grown man, and he will deal with this setback in his life just as we all have....hell, maybe he is happy it is over!! I find it hard to believe this is the only tragic/sad time he has had in his life and he has no idea how to deal with it. BTW, I saw five VH shows last year...two five stars, so I was very close....Ed kicked ass at every show I saw!!

Yoko was great for The Beatles! She grounded John,etc..... All the same crap you said about what Val did for Ed. She did say she prefered the early Van Halen, I'll give her that!

Default Well, Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick....

    A pro Valerie thread??

    I'll bite...

The woman has held her looks over all these years (including with dealing with the stress of being married to an alcoholic), and in her day, she looked awesome in a pair of Jordache's....

Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...

DLR: It was like a stand off in a Chuck Norris movie. We each had the laser dot on everybody's forehead waiting for the other guy to blink. Except for Wolfie, he had a Super Soaker ...
