I hear you. The death of Lennon was one of the defining moments of my teenage years. I have an older brother who was a huge Beatles fan and I grew up listening to them. One of my earliest memories is listening to the White Album on one of those portable eight-track players. Imagine what a 65 year old John would be doing now! It's a real shame we'll never get to find out.

Can't help but wonder what John would've done had he not been brutally gunned down "All Those Years Ago" - maybe he would've made some albums with Julian and Sean? Probably would've continued making albums with his wife... Would he have worked with Paul again? After Arnold's successful run for governor, would John have entered American politics? So much stolen on the street that night...

John was one of the greatest Writers in Music history and would no doubt be making great music and politicle statements in the world today. Dimebags death as some one said on the radio today was the 9/11 of heavey metal. I grew up with pantera in the 90's and that kind of helps me get what you guys were saying about Lennon.
Rest in peace John and Dime

Yeah, it's hard to believe it's been a year already for dime...and it's really hard to believe it's been 25 years for John.

I recall some weeks ago there was a special on one of those "Dateline" shows or one similar, they had a special on John and the events leading up to his death. Still, 25 years later watching that show, I was deeply sickened by the scumbag that took John's life. I was cussing the tv for so long and so loud my wife was freaking out on me and repeatedly tried to calm me down while venting about that piece of trash that senselessly took his life...

Damn, I'm getting pissed again now....

I went and saw Motley Crue last night. For the encore Nikki Sixx came out and said "We just realised that its the anniversary of John Lennons death, so we're going to play a song we haven't played for a long time as a tribute to one of the greatest songwriters ever"
They then played Helter Skelter - nice touch (too bad it was written and sung by Paul McCartney, but it was the thought that counted).
