    Default Zakk Wylde Signature Wah

I just purchased the Zakk Wylde Signature wah the other on Musician's Friend site. I was just wondering if any of you guys here have one of these or have ever played and could tell me the pros and cons on this piece of gear before it gets here this week.

I also have Zakk's MXR overdrive pedal on the way. My rig is basically a 5150 combo with the MXR EVH Phase Shifter, a Boss Chorus Ensemble, the MXR Overdrive, and the wah. I have run the effects through the loop, but am not pleased with the significant volume loss it produces. I was wondering whether I am doing something wrong or just need to run the effects in front of the amp, and what would be the most logical order for the effects to be run. I would greatly appreciate the opinions of all here, for I am relatively new to the stompbox world.

    Zakk's Wah...

    Hello there,

I bought the wah from Musician's Friend and wasn't happy with it. It was killer looking, was the autographed version and I was pumped! Problem was I could not really tell a real difference between Zakk's and my Crybaby. At $129 I decided the very small difference wasn't worth the cash. But definitely a cool piece though and I'm sure you will love it! It does have a wider sweep but more bassey than on the high end which is what I was hoping for. Good luck.

    Zakk and BLS!

By the way, I just saw BLS live a couple weeks ago and that dude just smokes and seems way cool from some of his stage banter! Not to mention he loves EVH and actually played part of Eruption during his solo! I love Zakk and the way he isn't afraid to give a nod to his mentors like Ed and Randy! My three favs:

    1.) EVH
2.) George Lynch-great guy met him a couple times and he is just sooo laid back and the guy just freakin smokes! He is so underated it isn't even funny!
    3.) Zakk

Did you say you ran your Wah through your loop?
I've ALWAYS been told no no on this! Run your Wah through the front! Same with the Overdrive. Should be Wah, Overdrive, amp. Try that. The rest should be run through the loop. BTW, I have the Zakk Wylde Wah, and I think its a GREAT wah. Its cool because it has some nice sweet spots-hence, playing with where you want to leave the pedal when you move it up and down. I personally like this sound it makes when its kicked on, the heel of the pedal is pushed back towards ya-BARELY on. Believe me, its blows a Crybaby away. -Red43j
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

I've tried the Zakk wah, and it sounds pretty much identical to the Jimi Hendrix wah, only the sweep leans a little more to the bassy side. It's still a great wah, and the casing is awesome!

Does Dunlop still make the Crybaby 535 Wah? That's the model I have. I like it a lot because you have four frequency settings for the sweep. Very versatile, nice piece...
