    Default Sustainer System

If anyone has seen the boot for "live in pensacola 95" was that a fernandes sustainer on the purple music man?? Was that Edward's first foray into the sustainer world?

Would a Boss sustainer pedal work the same as a Fernandes guitar mounted one?

It sounded like Humans Being and Me wise magic had the sustainer on them as well.

Anyone here dislike the sustainer systems?

    Pros and Cons...gimme the goods!

Pensacola show sustainer? Yes. Absolutely was.

Boss Sustainer pedal the same thing? No. Absolutely not.

I picked up a cheap Fernandes Revolver after the 1998 tour after
my interest was piqued. The sound that you hear on the
albums where he uses it is immediately attainable. It's a very,
very cool device. (I jacked it up by pulling a frankenstein and
installing the chip, pickup and switches into a Steinberger GM
"frankie" of my own. Never worked right after that.)

Anyway, the it has three modes: natural sustain, harmonic sustain, or the mix mode. Van Halen 3 uses the harmonic sustain abundantly on "Year to the Day," "Once," and others. You can also hear it on "Respect the Wind" off of the Twister Soundtrack.

Go to Fernandes Guitars' website for more details, or just go to www.sustainiac.com--this guy was the originator, I think.
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

    Sweeeeeet!!

Hey did it seem edward "wrestled" with the sustainer too much during the 2004 world tour?? I think he had a lot of technical problems during that last tour. I have the Hartford boot and he lost his entire signal at one point during best of both worlds!! I'm sure he looked at his guitar tech and said "NO SOOOP FORRR YOOOO!!!"

    My thoughts...

I love the sustainer! The only thing is it can go a long way fast. In other words less can be more. I think that's where some of Ed's detractors started in on his overuse. However having played one on several occasions, its infectious and is hard to stop doing constantly because it is just goddamn cool!

    Default Fernandes Sustainer Kit

Anyone ever try to install one of these before? It looks like there are 2 models of kits available, the one with just the humbucker driver and the one with the single coil driver and brige humbucker: http://www.music123.com/search/?src=sustainer&x=42&y=14

    They are $149, and $219.

I am thinking of picking up a cheap musicyo Kramer and jamming one of these things into it.

I wanted to check here first to see if anyone has done it yet, and if there are any "gotha's" I should be worried about.

The circuit boards from Fernandes are kinda big IMO.
    I've been looking at these ... http://www.sustainiac.com/

They're a little more expensive, but I plan on doing the installation myself and I'm trying to avoid having to make any alterations to the body.

I don't know if this is true but i've heard that the sustainer can somewhat damage or change the sound of your amp like take away from the distortion or something.
