    Default Fretless vs Fretted

I play guitar and bass, not in a band or anything. I own a Fender fretless Jazz bass...love it. Have never really played a fretted bass. My question is...what is the biggest difference? I have no problem playing the fretless....real smooth, nice warm tone, really sounds great, I do a little recording by myself at home, would I ever want a fretted bass, and why? Just curious what the biggest differences are? Thanks.
