Did they play the whole song or just part of it? I know I've heard it, I just can't remember if I've got it or not.

I know it was when Derek was keyboardist; I think he liked VH. He also did some sort of eruption thingy during his key solo.

I think it was they whole song. Because I remember seeing somewhere someone mention that. But if anyone has a copy. Then please, post it. Dream Theater is my second favorite band. So the idea of my 2 fav band doing a cover of my all time fav band. Well, you get the idea.

I've only heard the version where they played the intro and Jim says his "Dave come back bit." Don't recall where, but yeah. I looked but nothing.

Never been a fan of Dream Theater, I have the "Images And Words" CD but I just can't get into it. I've tried a few times but it's too clinical for me, no soul. Still it'd be cool to hear them have a crack at 'Mean Street'...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

I might be wrong but didn't Dream Theatre do a live totally Iron Maiden concert? For some reason I remember this or was it some other band? Only time I really paid much attention to Dream Theatre and they were awesome.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Yes, I believe they did the entire "Number of the Beast" album live and released it as an "official bootleg". They did the same thing with Metallica's "Master of Puppets". That was an awesome CD and they're really good about treating their fans to special things like that. From what I remember my wife telling me (she's more of a DT fan than me), any time they play 2 shows in one location on back-to-back nights, they'll play a DT setlist one night and then cover someone else's album the other night to mix things up. I would love it if they'd cover an entire Van Halen album.

That's true. I went to both shows in Chicago that year and got to hear the Metallica set.
This year they did a Floyd album; it'll be in their next batch of Official Boots.

DT is my second fav band. Sometimes my fav, depending on the current state of VH.

It's only the first verse and chorus and then they're done. I don't really see VH fans liking it too much; especially die hards.
