    Default BBE Sonic Maximizer

Howdy everybody!! I am completely retubing my 5150 head, got all new cables and a new 6505 cabinet, I am thinking about going a little further in the hole and getting one of those BBE sonic maximizers. I've heard good thing, but I was wondering what all you 5150 owners who have one think about it. Is it worth it and does it make that much of a difference? I've got some other things I want to get too, but if its gonna make a good differnce, im gonna move it to the top of my list.
    Thanks,
    Around2k

Bought mine new for 99 bucks and it totally makes a difference. It's actually funny how subtle that darn thing is. When it's off, you KNOW it's off. It totally makes the 5150 come to life. I've heard some say that it's like taking a blanket off of your speaker cab, and that's exactly the way I'd describe it. You really have to try one out to get a feel for what it does, but once you play with one there's no way you'll go without one.

I have the old stomp-box style BBE Sonic Maximizer, the 262. Wouldn't use my 5150 without it.

Has anyone used it with a Marshall? I'm looking to add a little punch to my sound.

I have used it with a Marshall. It adds overall definition, especially to your bottom end.

I used one with my 5150 HD....would never go without it. Really makes the harmonics come to life. For some reason it does not have the same effect on my Vetta. I have a 462 which has an A and B side. I might sell if if anyone is interested....send a PM.

I do use the software version and it's awesome!

Eh.......a Marshall flavored like Eddie's (low-gain, no mud) shouldn't really need any "waking-up".

You may be better served by different speakers, or maybe a different magnet in your pickup. I'd tweak the amp first.

    Sonic Maximizer Rocks!

I added one to the ffects loop of my 5150 combo and it is like night and day. Much clearer. I felt the combo rocked but was a little muddy/nasaly the BBE solved all those problem. Cake to operate, set it up make sure its on and wail! I wouldn't own any amp now without it. Now, I command you to buy it!
