    The Poseidon Adventure (2005)

I don't believe NBC is showing this tonight: Rather than a large tidal wave capsizing the ship, this time it's terrorism.

The so-called "special" effects are laughable, and it "stars" Steve Guttenberg!

    Be afraid, be very afraid.

What I can't believe, is that there's a TV Movie on tonight.....and they're remaking a theatrical version for release next year with Kurt Russell? Two remakes in two years?

I remember hearing about them making this, but they made it as a tv movie? Leave the classics alone, damn it!

A scientific question - when the original "Poseidon Adventure" came out, someone told me it was impossible for a boat like that to be capsized in that manner. Anyone know whether that's true?

I dunno, yet the original featured Stella Stevens, and she was quite...er, bouyant .

Jesus, Guttenberg? Hasn't anyone shot him yet? The original is a classic! Hackman, Borgnine, McDowall, the list is endless. Why degrade a classic.

Roddy McDowall was in the original? What part did he play, I don't recall?

This is obviously a move by the Stonecutters Club to revive Guttenberg's career.

Man, Posidon Adventure was one of my favorites when I was a kid. It played at the theater down the street durring that summer and I saw it at least four times. I think I built at least two Queen Mary models that summer too, because I trashed the first one in the tub.

Poor Gutenberg, it's better to play a small part in a good project than a big part in a piece of shit.

Plus, if it's terrorists then why not just make a movie about terrorists on a cruise ship instead and call it something else?

I would love to know the story behind this project because at some point there was some serious cock-sucking going down to get this made and aired.

Out of respect to the original film (which was the FIRST movie I ever remember seeing in a movie theater) I'll be skipping any remake of it. So SICK of the remake craze! :
