Default Eddie and Eric Clapton ?

Has Eddie every jammed with Eric Clapton?

I now Eddies big influence was Eric C.

If so, is there any pictures.

No, they haven't jammed. They met once, that's about it. I don't think Clapton is a big fan of Eddie's style-tapping and divebombing etc. He's criticized Eddie on a number of occasions, although I remember reading one interview with Clapton where he was asked if he was interested in jamming with guys like EVH or Vai, and he responded with something like what's the point, those guys would blow him away. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to see it happen. EVH and Clapton wouldn't sound good together. EVH and anybody doesn't generally sound good together, he's got too much going on and his style is so unique and personal to him that the only guy he really sounds good with is his brother.

Dime might have been one of the few who would have sounded good with Ed. I think had Dime lived, we might have eventually heard something from the two of them. Ed seemed to get along well with Dime, and Dime had already contacted Ed about doing something together. I'm not really a big fan of Dime, a great player but for some reason I never really got into him, but I'm still really saddened at his death even today

I remember seeing a cable TV show a few years ago (History of RnR, or something like that) where Ed says that EC is the only guitar player that ever inspired him. They probably wouldn't sound quite right together, but I'd give it a listen to find out!!

Wow that would've been something. It w/b great if Zakk and Edward could jam together.

Edward and Eric both have their own unique styles, I don't see them combining. Not that they'd ever do that anyways.

If you've heard the Brian May Starfleet Project you can hear how Eddie would probably play with Clapton. I will add that every time I've heard Eddie Jam with another guitar player he tends to take over.

I'd rather hear Eddie play with Mike, Alex and either Dave, Sam or Gary.

I think one reason why it would not work is that Eddie has incredible charisma once he straps that guitar on. Very few individuals have looked as "cool" playing up there outside of Hendrix and Eddie. At least IMO.

Its like what are you going to do when Hendrix starts playing with his teeth and starts humping his guitar? Play a pentatonic solo?

    Same with Eddie.

I think he works best when he is playing with other instrumentalists like Paul Schaefer or Jan Hammer.

I always wanted to hear eddie jam with SRV. Especially after the brian may project and heard that eddie can pull off the bluesy stuff.

On the City of Hope All Star Garage Band boot, I love Richie Sambora's face when Ed plays his ass off.. it's like " Shit.. I wish I could play like that!!"

PS On a side note I have tickets for Clapton for the new year, should be good.
