Default Can't Get This Stuff No More

    Not this stuff, baby.

This song has grown on me...and grown, and grown...

I've heard a lot of people say they think Dave sounds strained on his two BOV1 tunes. That's probably accurate for Me Wise Magic, but he sounds great on CGTSNM.

Rockin. Ed's guitar sound was so frickin awesome during the period of Balance, Humans Being, and the two Dave tunes. I know it's been talked about, but needs to be said again...What a frickin waste...that at that moment they couldn't work it out with Sam or Dave and do more like this stuff.

    Not this stuff, baby....Indeed.

I think CGTSNM is ok, but not great. MWM is definitely a great VH tune though.

the two DLR tunes are great, but Me Wise Magic is superior

I've always found this the superior Dave song. That solo is just filled with so much feeling and Dave sounds great. Although I give MWM props for stellar background vox and overal kicking the ass. But still, CGTSNM is awesome.

MWM was great, but CGTSNM was just sad.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Agreed, lyrically on CGTSNM, but instrumentally and the way the song was worked was just awesome. Lyrically, if you ask me, the song is terrible, but intrumentally it was great.

And we all know words cannot describe the greatness of MWM. Believe me, that 1996-1997 tour wouldve been HUGE.

    ROTMFFLMMFAO!!!

This coming from a kid who has "Poundcake" listed as his favorite "Van Halen" song.

Yeah, sheer lyrical brilliance in that "gem" even by Van Hagar standards. Which, both in and of itself ain't sayin' much...

I love the groove of this song. Had Dave rejoined the band permanently back in 1996, I would have loved to have heard them continue on with a few more gems like this. "Me Wise Magic" is a mighty fine song too.

    Oh, what could have been...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Roll your eyes all you want my brother, but this kid is 14yrs old and is into Van Halen. That in itself is cool to me so give the kid some props.

I don't get too much into lyrics personally so it's usually about the vibe of the tune to me. CGTSNM is just groovy and the vibe is totally DLR, so it's always been one of my faves. As much as I love Dave let's not forget why these songs are so good.
