Default Simple leads you just can't play

any of you guys out there have simple leads you just can't seem to play ?
and I mean simple no one out there post "yea I just can't get Vai's "Tender Syrrender".
For me the most simple leads I can't play for shit are the solo to "Runnin with the devil" and the solo for "Everybody wants some" it's just so ridiculas (in Ricky Ricarodos best voice)

The solos for RWTD & EWS are DECEPTIVELY simple. I used to have a hard time with 'em, also! EWS is difficult because of the whammy bar part of it. It's hard to pick the octave notes and dive the bar for each pair of noted at the same time...

The one for Beautiful Girls is also pretty difficult for a pretty easy melody...

Simple riffs and solos are all about the feel and the phrasing. I remember the first band I was in when I first started playing we were trying to do Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top. That has got to be one of the simplist riffs of all time and it was so hard to get the right feel on it. We were a two guitar band and we must have spent an hour trying to get it to sound right.

Yeah...plunking out notes is easy...The touch and phrasing are a different beast altogether...

I hear ya but I'm not a beginner, that's the point, I can play with phrasing and feel Don;t get me wrong I'm no EVH but for as long as I have been playing those 2 solos should be well within my ability .

RWTD is all about the phrasing and the feel. I've played for 20 years and I'll tell you what, not until maybe 7 or 8 years ago did that solo really click with me, where I can nail it now with the right feel to get that melody perfect.

There's also the fact that EVH was a working pro for YEARS before that came out...Countless hours of rehearsal...practice...gigs...That's where you get your feel...Of course it would take any of us longer, unless we are everyday pro players...

I'm the One intro. Everything else is pretty cool with me in that song. The solo's aren't that hard but it' all feel. Not so much getting your fingers to play the notes. Too much thinking gets in the way of good playing.
