I was wondering if anybody knows how to clear the scroll function or disable it in the web browser bars (not internet exploror bar) I have tried everything from deleting cookies to clearing history to shredding files through my mcaffe virus scan and cant do it. Again this is on the brower bars on yahoo, google, msn and comcast and any other browser site. I must have told it i wanted this funcion but I just dont know how to do it .Thanks

I know you were serious, but just the way you presented your solution struck a nerve with me.

When you go to type something and it starts dropping down options of what you've typed in the past?

I don't know either. My home one does that too on google.

It's probably the "Auto complete" function.

To disable it, In Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS -CONTENT- then click on the AUTOCOMPLETE button and then uncheck everything and click OK

Ed Shread, you're talking about the search boxes on the custom browser bars in IE, correct? I'm pretty sure Spybot will clear the Google searches when you do a usage track scan (I haven't used IE in a while so I'm not sure if it shows up when there's no search keyword info). Have you tried the "options" on the individual toolbars? There may be a way to wipe out past searches (I've never used Yahoo, MSN, or Concast toolbars, so I'm not sure).

Ah, I posted after you answered. You can also delete individual elements in IE by bringing up the drop-down list of past auto-completed items by using the up/down arrow keys and simply hit "delete" when one is highlighted. This is especially useful when you accidentally type in something incorrectly in, say, a login form and it stays in your auto-completed list and you want it removed.

I went to internet options, then to content, then to the personal information tab and unchecked all the boxes, then apply or ok and bingo, thanks for the help!

it wont be long until you re-check all those boxes..

unless, of course, you are trying not to leave any 'footprints' of where you've been...
