    Just admit it!

Ok, let's all just admit it...VH is over. Really. They cease to exist as a band and unless Edward shapes up they always will. Maybe he wants it to be over and that's why he's out of control right now?!

Here's some things that make a band active:

    1) They make records
    2) They tour
    3) They do press

Van Halen does none of these things and hasn't done any of them in a long time. Yeah I know it happened in 2004 but that was a fluke. Just cause I get a birdie doesn't make me a golfer. A band has to do the above at least more than three times over a 10 year period (as VH did in '95, '98 and '04).

Do you realize the break from 1998 until now has lasted almost as long as The Beatles entire career? In 4 years, from 1968-1972, the Stones made some of the greatest albums of all time... Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Get Yer Ya's Ya's Out, Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main St. (a double album!). John Coltrane made over 10 albums...in 1965!! See where I'm going with this?

VH is over cause Ed wants it it be. And maybe that's ok. Let's all try real hard to let it go.

Well they may not be as big as they were in the 80's but they still have a huge following. And they did also come out with Best of Both Worlds and a tour last year......

I tend to agree that VH is over, but I'm not sure why I'd create a post trying to convince people of that. Especially when I'm not an active member of a group. The writing is on the wall for those that wish to see it, and for the rest... they'll figure it out.

He who fart in church sit in own pew.

Van Halen is finished? If so, who cares? I happen to think not.

Nothing to let go of. Even if they never do another album, as a fan, I'm so far ahead of the game it isn't even fair.

The difference between those of us who were fans in 1978 and now is that back then we didn't need to be babied. There was no internet and unless you got Cream or Circus or Hit Parader at your supermarket then you never had a clue as to what was going on. Big city radio station sometimes had news, but most of the time, unless you had access to Billboard, fans were in the dark.

Then again, we had lives too.

Yep, the point that the VH boys have not said " we are done" baffles people. The door is still not locked, but there is no reason to say it is.
    Just go for it!
