Default One Person in Oregon Wins $340 Million in Powerball.

BTW, has anyone heard from Seenbad?

So if they took the cash option that would be about $170-180 Million, so after taxes approx. $120-130 Million? Damn! Susan and I have talked about what a person would do with that kind of Moolah. First of all, I would buy a Madden style bus to tour the country in, find a place I liked and build a house. Then I would open up a small guitar/music store to occupy my time. Susan loves animals, so she would have an animal shelter. It's nice to dream isn't it?

Well that about takes the joy out of my free cheeseburger I won at McDonalds on lunch.

Wow, not only in Oregon, but in the town I grew up in no less, and in a Tavern (yes, a tavern) I've been known to frequent on occasion when I visit family down there. Population is about 2k. I figured I had a 1 in 200 chance that somebody in my family bought it.

    Bummer.

Rumor has it a single Mom bus driver got it. The town's going OUT OF THEIR MINDS with the buzz and media, rumors and such. Everybody wants a piece.

Glad I'm not down there anymore!

That's the downside of that sort of thing. I would want to get the money and disappear for a while, but you know damn well that sort of thing wouldn't happen. All your friends would want a piece, relatives you haven't heard from in YEARS would materialize at your front porch, and so on and so forth. Yes the money would be nice, but there are some headaches that would go along with winning it. BTW, my immediate family would be well taken care of. There are friends that I would share the wealth with to an extent. I'm a pretty giving person, but you could only take it so far.

BTW Seenbad, where did you grow up again? I was thinking it was in the Medford/Grants Pass area, but I don't seem to recall the exact name.

If I was to win a massive Lotto like that the first thing I would do is disconnect all of my phones and have a friend or family member get me a cell phone under there name. Take care of my immediate family of course. I would purchase a extremely nice motor home and drive across the country with my dog, take a few months for the smoke to clear. All this time my house is being completely remodeled, and a massive shop/garage is being built to store my many many auto's. My days would be spent driving my cars, fishing, hunting, sitting in the hot tub, visiting friends and family, golf.
