I paid over $100.00 a few years ago to see him there. I won't be going back, but only because of finances. Cannot swing it this year. Last time I said @#$% it and went.

Are you talkin' 'bout Kansas City in 2001 or 2002?? I saw King Papa Diamond Dave both of those years in KC and each show was a stellar performance. 2001 was at the KC Ameristar...2005 is at the St. Charles, MO Ameristar.

You could always pawn your guitar and go...if it ain't been in pawn, it ain't the blues.

Yes, I went to KC in about 2001. Man has it been that long? Time flies. Great concert though. Very cozy there in the casino and I liked it. 3 little ones dictate what a guy can hawk though :-)

I've been checking ticketmaster and Dave's sight a couple of times a day to see when ticks go on sale. I will not miss that show. Let me know if any Linkers want to hang out.

Hey Loon, just talked to you at the Army...is that a bad word around here?!? Anyhow, tell me about this Ameristar casino. Is it a good place to see a show? How early do I need to get there to get close to the stage? I am bringing my wife and the last time she saw Dave was at the Sam and Dave show in Indianapolis. She loves Sammy and hopefully Dave will put on one stellar performance to sway her opinion a bit. She was really looking forward to seeing Dave in Indy, but wasn't impressed with his stage presence. I was dissappointed with the amount of witty banter myself. Hopefully Dave will be more himself in St. Joe. See you there.

The gig is at the Bottleneck Blues Bar which is part of/at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, MO. It is a cool bar with good ambience...lots of bluesmen and blueswomen pictures and paintings on the walls...the place holds about 400 so it is going to be crowded. Tell your wife to dress light.

I thought Dave toned down the 'witty banter' on the 2002. So, expect plenty of that...I always crack up laughin' at his lines, cackle like a loon...they're like toasts at a great party...I expect him to hit the stage late...and he usually is pissed off about something or at someone(usually the sound guy)...an' then he'll settle in, start talkin' some smack and mackin' on your woman...of course, I could be wrong, he might actually hit the stage at 8pm sharp an' be in a great mood...

Brett, the webmaster here, posts at the Army, so I can't see it being that bad of a word 'round this 'hood.
