Default EVH and Ritchie Blackmore. Separated at birth?

Check out the similarities between EVH and Ritchie Blackmore:
    • Both are classically influenced.
    • Both are masters of the monster riff.
    • Both influenced a ton of guitarists.
    • Both have very unique, signature styles (i.e. you hear 8 bars of a solo from either of them and you know instantly who it is).
    • Both are very tempermental, some would say eccentric. Some would go as far as to say arrogant or egotistical.
    • Both damaged their credibility with their revolving door policy towards singers.
    • Both could be continuing to lead one of rock's most legendary bands. Neither are doing so because they're difficult to work with.
Growing up, I never saw Blackmore in the same league as Ed and still don't, but with the passage of time Eddie has definitely taken on some of Blackmore's less admirable qualities. Two huge talents who can't get past their egos. If Ed and Dave ever did re-unite, I would love to hear them do a Purple cover like Lazy or Space Truckin'.

Not sure what the point of this post is. LOL Just occured to me that these two guitar gods have more in common now than they used to.

Yeah, Blackmore was widely viewed as an asshole back in the Deep Purple days.

    Probably just Pre-Minstrel Syndrome.
