    Default Night Stalker

Anybody catch this last night. I was a huge fan as a kid. I thought it was good. Even had a mustang. Plus they inserted Darren McGaven ( the original Kolchak) into a news room shot. They kept the suspense. Made Kolchak a little darker, no quirks. And added the FBI twist. Kinda on the fence until I see a few more episodes. The original was campy and less busy than this one but this one kept you watching till the end. I missed it but is Chris Carter involved with this. I know he was a huge fan of the original series and used that as a motivation for the Xfiles.

I caught it...and that it was allright. I saw some of the original episodes on repeat on the Scifi channel, so I really saw how the show was updated. I'll keep watching.....

I'm not sure. I loved the show as a kid so I was really excited to watch it. Loved how they showed the original guy in the newsroom. I really liked the opening scene with the sound thru the plastic on the house being built. It's alot more scary than actually seeing something because your imagination runs wild. I liked them finding the picture with "it" hiding in the tall grass and when it lifted the bed up to get the little girl. Problem for me was the lead. I guess I wanted an older, world weary, seen it all type person and that guy didn't have that vibe.

Undecided myself on this after last night's show. Wasn't all that impressed with the storyline last night.
What were those things Dogs, Rabid Coyotes, Werewolves or some lunatics from DLR Army? Also I did not notice any sort of conclusion after they rescued the little girl. Did they kill all the creatures or are they going to be a ongoing issue throughout the series?
I'll give it a couple of more watches but really hope it get's better than what I saw last night..

It has promise. I'd seen some of the old ones somewhere (I guess it must have been Sci-Fi) and I liked them (cheesy as they were). I DID notice the original Kolchak inserted in the newsroom -- pretty cool. Stuart Townsend makes some fine eye candy. I think they're going for more of a Night Stalker/Fugitive concept with the FBI guy. Don't know about Chris Carter, but here's an article I found:

I liked the camera work they're using. (Unfortunately I don't think it will last long against CSI.)

The first episode wasn't bad...we'll see. I like Stuart Townsend, so I will give a chance.

Watched the second episode. I thought it was pretty good. I thought the ending wasn't well thought out and was a letdown from a up until that time pretty well written thriller. They could have done better than stick the bad guy in a room with a bunch of convicts. Started out real well at the little league game. I'll probably catch it next week again.
