    Default Mike joining new band?

    Saw this on blabbermouth---

GEORGE LYNCH, TOMMY ALDRIDGE And MICHAEL ANTHONY To Form New Band? - Sep. 21, 2005

Legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) is in talks with veteran hard rock drummer Tommy Aldridge (WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT) about putting together a new project. "We'll see how the sessions go and if everything clicks like we hope that it will," Lynch recently said. "We're looking to pull Michael Anthony from VAN HALEN into the fold as well, and that's also in the works."

With regards to his upcoming solo album, Lynch said, "I have about 8 or 9 new tracks pretty much completed for the new forthcoming record. Mucho guitar noise! It's heavy, bluesy, psychedelic and trance-like. Indefinable stream of consciousness."

On the equipment front, "Design and development of the new Randall amp line is almost complete and the amps sound ridicolous," Lynch said. "There are four preamp modules, and power amp main head, called The Lynch Box. There is also an awesome 4 x 12 with some really cool retro and modern features. There will also be a point-to-point hand-wired head. This should all be finished and available by winter NAMM in Anaheim, California. We are developing a new pickup with Duncan clalled the Super V, which will initially be available only on the new ESP Brahma Super V guitar, also coming out in January at NAMM."

Good for Mikey, I'm down for that.

Me too, although I've never been much of a Lynch/Dokken fan.

If he's really moving on, why isn't he simply joining the Wabos? Yeah, yeah, Mona...but screw it, have two bassists and a raging rhythm vocalist. Plus, the whole half of Van Halen vibe.

But I'll support any musical effort Mikey puts out, either way. Heck, I'd be front row center for a solo album and club tour.

My guess is that he can still tour with Sam while doing this thing with George. I'm for it man. He's gotta be tired of playing the same tired as songs over and over. Get out there and play something challenging and fresh.

Agreed, Mikey branching out can't be anything but a good thing.

So you think it's more of a byline, not a major switch-up to a brand new gig?

Yea, I don't think it's a full time gig. George likes to have several things going on, so I'm sure this is like a Planet US type of deal. Hit the studio and record some tunes, play some club gigs and have fun. Hopefully it rocks which I'm sure it will. If Mikey doesn't sing lead, Oni from the Lynch Mob can wail!

Default Holy Shit I Hope This Happens!!!!!!!!!

George Lynch is one of the most badass, throwin down Motherf@#kers around! Not only that, he is just a great guy, no bullshit, totally devoid of ego, and totally down to earth ( met him several times and got to hang with him some). This would be great for Mikey. Also in the big scheme of things, and not that it matters at this point, I don't think ED would care because George and Ed came up together and George has always given major props to ED. In fact on one occassion I asked him about Ed and he was just so cool and respectful-no jealousy or any kind of bullshit!

If you have any doubts about George just pick up Wicked Sensation or especially the LP album Wicked Underground. Unbelievable. George is also good friends with Zakk- and if you've ever heard Zakk talk about George he just thinks George is the shit-and he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PLease George-Make this happen!!!!

Not you're not looney. Borderline, p'raps.

This is an interesting development. Guess VH isn't doing anything any time this year, from the sounds of it. I'd go see 'em if they came around my neck of the woods. Mikey's cool.

BTW - Mikey can totally replace "Mona" if he insists on being a p/t Wabo.
