I caught the Trivium show last night in Ft Worth. As I work with a family member of one of the group, I've been following them pretty close of the last couple of years.

This is the first time I've seen this group and it was a great show. Nice mix of some of the older stuff (from the first record, before Paulo joined), and the new stuff. They opened with "conflagration," with extended "choir" vocals to open the show.

A couple of highlights outside the norm was a cover version of "breaking the law" with the lead singer from "Protest the Hero" joining. They also played an abbreviated version of "walk" from Pantera. Rita, Dimebags "widow" was there, and I spotted her behind the stage during the show. I know they've used Dime's old guitars on tour before, but not sure if they did it last night.

They ended with "anthem" and a blistering version of "Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" with a HUGE mosh pit in the center of the floor.

If you're into a bit harder stuff than VH, check this band out. They're on tour with Iron Maiden in Europe the rest of the fall.
Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...

I saw them open for CoB last year in Philly. They put on one hell of a show. It's interesting though, a lot of people hate Trivium. I have no idea why?? They're riffs are awesome, both gtr players play lead, and except for the lead gtr player, they're all young and only getting a hell of a lot better. Ascendancy is one hell of an album. I think I enjoy it more than the Crusade, just because I actually enjoy Heafy's screaming as opposed to his new vocal style. Either way, Trivium rocks!
