    "Redheads:
Sorry for the short notice but I canít take it any longerÖ The devastation that Hurricane Katrina caused is awful. I need to do something, anything, to help.

Iíve decided a to throw together a last minute show this Saturday, September 10th, down here at the Cantina in Cabo. All I want at the door are donations- EVERY PENNY WILL GO TO AmeriCaresí Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

You guys are the BEST fans in the world- letís ban together and show the folks who have endured this terrible storm some luv! I know we can help- every little bit does.

The show will be with the house band: half acoustic and half electric set. Envelopes will be at the door. Please join me for this show.

I hope to see you in Cabo!

For those that canít make it for the show, please send your charitable donations to AmeriCares. We recommend that you designate your contribution to go the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts."
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

Fat chance. Ed's sitting at home thinking 'What storm? Katrina should blow ME!'

Kudos to Sam, I think all artists should be doing things like this......
    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

-Derrick Jensen, "What We Leave Behind"

"You know what's weird to me is Christians who are against the death penalty. After all, if it weren't for the death penalty, we wouldn't celebrate Easter!"

Kudos to Sammy for doing this.

On a different note, Dave is missing out on a perfect opportunity to call or go see Eddie and propose a one-time, for charity concert with the original lineup.

Sammy could raise some real money by doing the same thing for the Van Hagar lineup.
They could get along for one show, you would think.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

This is the only good news I have heard from Sammy's site in 2005 so far. But I am glad he is doing something to help those people

    Default I'm Not Complaining

If Sam, or U2, or Dave Mattews Band, or any other act wants to put on a benefit show, that's great. They're donating their time that night, about 2 to 3 hours worth and working for free, which is great...it's real nice...but the people paying(donating) the money are still people like you and me....

Now...I've already done a donation....and I think everyone should...I think the real selfless act from Sammy would be to donate 100 grand or something on top...and who the hell knows? He probably will...

Look, I'm not one of those guys that envy the ulta-rich rock stars (ok, maybe just a little, but I think that's normal)...I don't begrudge anyone their millions...I want to make mine someday...I know I'll get people saying, "Geez, Sammy tries to do something nice, and people are never happy!"....hear what I'm saying...

Sometimes you have to question stuff like this...If Sam adds to the envelope, then scratch this whole rant. Just something to think about...

Hmm. I tend not to say anything bad about people who give.....

But you may be right. Why do we worship these stars for giving "so much" when it isn't that much to them...

Like I saw on TV they where talking about how great John Travolta is for giving money and using his 747 to bring food, etc...

I guess as long as he can keep his own 747, he can give up some cash. But once giving means he will need to sell his 747, I bet he won't.
    Right here I say....
