Default VHLinks Summer Nights in Sin City Thread

..or whatever its being called these days!
This thread will be stickied so we have an easy reference and discussion point.
Seenbad gave some excellent tips on thread mgmt that should help keep this manageable, but i know i'll forget them, so do your best. If you scroll down pages pretty fast when trying to find something,
look for this symbol: this will indicate either a recap or new information.

Also, There will be a more relaxed ..'ambience' in here.

So here's where we are so far.
We have it narrowed down to 2 dates:

    July 13-16, 2006
    July 20-23, 2006

The Casino's we are considering are:

    Golden Nugget
    The Mirage
    The Hard Rock Casino
    Binions Horseshoe
    The Stardust Imperial Palace

I think that's the one's still in the running. The Nugget and the Hard Rock are not on the strip, the rest are. We havent heard back from the Hard Rock yet, but so far, the Nugget is by far the best rate.

    Rates so far::
The first number will be for Thurs. night and the next number will be for Fri night and Sat. night, then the total for the 3 nights..
(keep in mind that in Vegas, there are at least 5 different taxes and fee's for everything, including Rm rates, so these will be slightly higher than what is posted here)

    Nugget.. $59, $109,...$280
    Mirage... $159, $229,...$617
    Harrah's..$139, $179,.. $497, plus a $15,000 minimum for food and drink..

We are Aiming to total AT least 50 rooms for this, and we have a long way to go, but with 14,000+ members here, it shouldn't be THAT hard..

Here is the current list of semi-serious,but not beholden, committed people:

    1. Perticelli
    2. Mrs. Perticelli
    3. Lodewijk
    4. Mrs. Lodewijk or equivalent (lmao!--nice one Lode )
    5. AJVH
    6. Jan (preferably w/ non-paid-for lady friend)
    7. IED
    8. Mrs. IED (unless last two weeks of July, then a probable no)
    9. smithjc & possible "guest" or mimbo of the night, which ever comes first.
    10. LLFHScum (maybe stag, maybe w/ breasted guest....one never knows)
    11. sisca
    12. sunya
    13. sixstring (and possible guest)
    14. Filthy 150
    15. Mrs. 150
    16. ktgiles
    17. van_5150_halen (unless last two weeks of July when we'll be F.D.I.C.)
    18. forrestjump and mrs. forrestjump
    19. Chewi

Isnt it amazing that only 19 people are interested in this?

Dont worry about putting your name on the list, it's gonna change anyway.
next week, we are going to finalize the date and the Place and then have a discussion with the Hotel. After that, there will be Dates given out that will lay out the money schedule(what is due when, etc.)

Once that stuff is out of the way, then we'll get to the good stuff, like 3-some assignments, 'sleeping' arrangements and,.. whoops, wrong vivafest, sorry!...I mean Top Timmy's Logo Designs, another, new logo design contest and other idea's for tshirts, the Get Ed to Go campaign, etc.

Pls feel free to put any and all comments, feedback, idea's brainstorms, criticisms and naked pictures in here..this is a community thread.

Now, if i can find Seenbad and get this stuck, we can move ahead..

20-23rd is cool w/ me also.
I think the more economical hotels will be favored, but since I have not looked at the choices, I would advise for one somewhere in the middle.
    I'm pretty easy.

I just noticed that 7 of the 19 comitted are from Texas.
Interesting; are we more in favor of having a good time than the rest of the country? Or do we just make quicker decisions?

July 20-23 is great for me.

I'm with Filthy in being easy on this (and only this mind you!! I can't answer for Filthy!!) with the rooms. Mid-rate is fine.

BTW - Is it possible to get a screening of an early VH show??? So's the people that haven't seem them live with Dave can know what they missed?? And those of us who did can remember (albeit hazily) the show??

    Just wonderin.

Yup, it's the fancy and classic name of Smith here.

Anyways, my memories are still intact (somewhat).

    Awesome show.
