Don't draw the line - Honey, I ain't through with you...

Wasn't this an odd choice for first single to be released given some of the other pop-heavy stuff from this album?

I've been finding myself on this track on BOBW lately...remasterd it's the shit.

It was an odd choice for a lead-off single.

I still can't get my head around the fact that to my ears, this tune sounds just like AC/DC's "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution".(Parts of it, in any event.)

I remember at the time of it's release, Sam said that since 5150 did so well Van Halen could just about do anything.

So they decided to pick more of a rocker as the debut single, let people hear something that may not get heavy air play (instead of a When It's Love or Feels So Good). I think Ed and Sam figured the "pop" songs would do well whenever they were released.

Actually, I believe "Girl Gone Bad" is the equal of "Drop Dead Legs".

And so under-produced, I heard a rumor that there is a bassist on this record.

Yeah, that's true. But the tunes are still killer.

Maybe we'll see a remaster someday.

Yeah, but a remastered won't improve the sound very much. It would have to get remixed to actually sound better. That's a whole different thing.

    What he said.

Black and Blue on the new GH DOES sound better. What I would give to hear Mine all Mine, Cabo, AFU, and Sucker reproduced....is a lot.

I still remember where I was the first time I heard this track. I was one of those little losers who brought a Walkman to school (radio built-in) and would listen to Mark and Brian on KLOS every morning when I was supposed to be paying attention.

Anyway, they premiered the new VH song on the M & B show while I was just sitting down in World History and I remember thinking, "Damn....quite a departure from '5150'." Didn't love it right away, but it grew on me.

Thinking back, I wonder how those teachers never noticed those damn headphones on me in class.
