    Got hit by a drunk

Haven't had a chance to post much since work has kept me so busy...

While on the way home from work last week I was driving home same route, same time like I always do, and a drunk driver decided to "snuggle up" his Yukon to the passenger side of my truck while driving down I-35.

This guy slowly bumped me coming out of his right lane into the middle lane I was in and didn't even bother to brake, stop or even show signs that he even knew that he hit me. I got behind the guy, started flashing my lights and honking my horn but to no avail he wouldn't stop.

I got on my cell phone and was able to get a hold of 911, they dispatched two cops and finally got this guy to pull over, long story short the 22 year old prick ended up getting a DWI and caused damage to my cab and a nice long racing stripe on the side of my truck...THANKFULLY this kid had insurance.

Moral of the story, be careful to all you out there who have the pleasure of working late shifts and have to drive home just after the bars close (2am) like me. I was lucky that's all that happened, since in my family i've lost a cousin years back to a drunk driver.

Please be careful out there guys! And don't drink and drive!

That could of been a lot worse. Glad to see you're ok. Gotta watch for those maniacs when you're driving late at night.

Obviously this dumbass was plastered and could have killed someone. Glad to hear neither you nor your pocket book were hurt (since he had insurance). You got very lucky.

Asshole! I too was hit by a drunk last November. It was a head on collision in the middle of an intersection. Basically, he completely went through his left turn arrow and as my light from his oncoming side turned green, we met in the middle. He was going about 45mph to my 5-10mph. He then fled the scene only to leave a licence plate behind, dumbass. I locked the plate in my truck, called the cops and within 20 minutes they were at his front door. He cpnfessed to having "one large glass full of jack and coke. I was a very, very luck SOB that day. Sorry rrussou812, I didn't mean to overshadow your story, I just know how it feels to be hit by a drunk. Lifes perspective changes a little thats for sure.

Anyways, this guy deserves the highest legal punishment for his crime against rrussou812. Throw the book at him!!

That was some twilight zone shit right there, TT

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

My cousin hit and killed two people many years ago.

The couple had just retired and were out for an early morning stroll when my cousin was coming home from an all nighter.

    He remebered nothing.

The hand with ladie's wedding band laying on the front seat was a giveaway that something very bad had happened.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

This is even more fucked up! What do you mean Jimmy? Your cousin doesn't remember anything yet you say that the hand with "ladie's wedding band laying on the front seat was a giveaway that something very bad had happened". Were you there Jimmy?

What an idiot. Me and my friends had a run in with a drunk dirver not too long ago, I wonder what prompts these people to get in a car after drinking. Also, I know about the family aspect too, lost one of my cousins to a drunk-driver. That right there is enough to make me leave my keys at home.

It's that "I'm completely fine to drive" bull crap that they pull. Some people just don't know their limitations. Glad to hear you're okay, Rrussou.

Default can't trust how u think u feel when drinking

last saturday, i was out at a BBQ drinking, i had a nice buzz.

i am one that can handle my liquor but when i started to drink i gave my buddy my keys.

i stopped around 8 pm drinking. i felt fine at 12 but still did not drive home till 2 pm.

i rather wait extra hours or sleeep in my car than ever endanger or kill anyone with my car
    DAVE vs SAMMY

People need to let this go.....it is like comparing an ex wife to your current wife...you can say how things would have be different if she were still here but she left you, so you moved on with your life.....

Same with Van Halen...would they have liked to have Roth stay, yes...but he decided to leave so they moved on.......

and the rest is history….. well until 1996……..lol

I got hit head on last week by some moron who was admitted to drinking and being stoned. After telling the cop he had been drinking and smoking pot he told the cop that I had hit him, which was odd because I was heading west bound on I-10 and the guy was heading east in the West bound lane. Luckily he had insurance though and I should be getting a new vehicle soon lol. Let me tell you though, I'm usually very lax on wearing my seatbelt but I'm damn glad I had it on that night and I can say I will wear one until the day I die.

After learning what I know about crash tests, I cannot understand anyone who doesn't wear a seat belt. I used to have people ask me how to turn the 'ding ding' warning and light off. The only way I could even relate to that is if a girl with really large breasts was having comfort issues.

I really have no idea why people can drive without seatbelts. Must come from knowing that those seatbelts measure your body mass and deploy the airbag according to your body size. Seatbelts aren't what they were in the 70's - they actually pull you back into position before the airbag deploys, and measure your weight to ensure the right size airbag.

People who don't buckle up are dummies, and are at least 1/2 as bad as drunk drivers (they take out themselves).

    Man...glad to hear you're okay.

You know, even though driving up in L.A. is dicey enough, I have never, EVER, had more close calls while driving on ANY highway (to include Japan) than I have while living and driving in San Diego.

Everything from fucking drag racers to old people to dipshit teenagers to people late for work in the morning to people paying more attention to their fucking cell phone coversations as they zip across the freeways lanes with total disregard to the traffic surrounding them.

It seems that every night we watch the evening news, there is always a report of some sort of major traffic accident, and most of them almost always occur after dusk. Unfuckingbelievable.
