Default Van Halen spirit lives on in Death by Stereo

Sorry to all those I offended with my first post. (apparently including the entire band) for coming back here. I was totally naive to the fact that there is a whole community of friends here inspite of the lack of Van Halen action, so I really felt bad about disrespecting that. Just expressing my shared frustration with the band inspite of all the support from its fan base...

    Anyway.

I came accross this review in a Vancouver BC weekly paper online. Nice to see some positive press/comments about Van Halen for a change. Save the weak intro by the reviewer.

I'll close the door myself on the way out.

"Ouiji Board Spirit" perhaps... Dropping VH references in interviews is the closest these guys get to any credibility... or at least that's what I think I meant to say... I'll have to see when I'm sober in the morning at work...

    this shit is simply unlistenable...

BTW: The VH spirit lives on with this band "A Perfect Murder" because one of the guys uses a 5150 head...

    Wow....
After listening, the association with Van Halen appears to come strictly from this article and how somebody liked watching MTV.
At least the guy enjoyed watching the Panama video.....

I never heard of this band, but if they were inspired by Van Halen, that's cool. What's not cool is the author calling VH a hair band, when they are in fact the furthest thing from it- no big hair, hairspray, ballads that launched a career, no leather, tatoos, etc. Anyone who knows anything about music will not refer to them as a hair-band. I always tell people, they are more of a t-shirt and jeans kind of band.

I saw death by stereo live at a mastodon concert back in June. I wasn't impressed with their music. All their songs sounded the same to me and nothing resemebled Van Halen for that matter either. I also don't like many hardcore bands to begin with.
