    Default WIDE mouth MaSoN

I'm a bigger fan of these guys now that I have seen them live. They got a new album coming out soon, and you can check out their new single at: http://www.myspace.com/widemouthmason.They're a great power trio, and all amazing musicians too.

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! I love Wide Mouth Mason! I saw them live 4 times! I have all their albums too. My favorite song by them is Companion Lay Me Down. I also love Why, Bootleggin', Watchewan, Sugarcane, My Old Self and Midnight Rain.

Saw them open for AC/DC a few years ago. Not bad.

Their new single, I love not loving you, really seems like a depature from what they might normally do. It's actually heavier and more pop sounding. It's cool that they're trying something different and also makes me want to hear the album more.

I found this cover they do of superstition on the net, and it really smokes. I love it when they jam out, which they do in this tune.

Yep, I picked it up, and I definitely recommend it for any WM fans.

I don't have all the records, but from the ones I do have, they've really gone for a different sound on this one. I would describe it as a little darker and heavier, while still having the WM blues/ funk feel that are their roots. Lots of tasty slide guitar riffs in the album too. There's a couple tunes I'm really diggin right now:

Shot down satellites - the title track is probably my favorite song right now. I really like everything about this tune and vocally its probably my fav.

Wide Eyed - is the next tune I'm really diggin. It's starts out with a heavy slide riff then goes into this psychidelic groove, and the course turns into a "wHy" type course.

Rust - is a ballady type song that morphs into... well, kinda what the tunes title is- rust. Cool songwriting on this one.

and honorable metions to: I Love Not Loving You, Unfolding, Everybody's Right, and Moment that You Came.

Overall a good album and has been seeing quite a bit of time in the CD player

I bought the new album today! It sounds like a continuation of the sound they had for their last album, Rained Out Parade. I like this album better though! Great guitar playing in it, and awesome riffs! I love the production on it as well.

Eleven is my favorite song off the album right now, it really rocks! Unfolding, Everybody's Right, and Phantom Limb are great too.

Saw them when they opened for Ac/Dc...oh, four or five years ago...they freakin' blew me away. What a great live band....I looked around for an album from them following the show but I think I had trouble locating one, or even finding info about them on the net!! I haven't thought much about them since, 'till now, but thanks for reminding me. I will google search them and grab a cd. Yeah, they really rocked!!

That is cool. Here is their official site...

If you live in the States, it will be tough to find their albums. If you live in Canada, it will be easy! They never made it big in the U.S. yet, only in Canada and in Japan.

I'll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy. I've heard Bootleggin(cool song), which I believe is off that album, and is on thier MySpace link.
