Default I think it's time for VH to bow out gracefully

I think it's time for the band to call it done, and let the other members move on with there lifes, i.e. Sammy, Eddie, Alex, and Mikey. if they did call it quits THEY have nothing to regret in there lifes as muscians! I bet if you sat down with all of them and talked to each one, they would agree that thinking back when they were small children playing music, THAT they would never think that they would be in a BAND that was one of the greats!. So to answer my question I would have no problem with VH calling it quits. It doesn't mean that I want them too, being a VH fan myself for like 23 plus years! I still get goose bumps seeing them play live! and when I seen them back in 1984! I woud have never thought that that was the last time Dave would have been in the band! But hey Sammy did a great job! I have always been a huge sammy fan also, going back to his day's in Montrose and solo stuff. What's this all mean? good question, I'm just writing stuff, well having a few beers always makes me chat alot! ha ha ha
have a good weekend all, and be safe. VH for ever!!

Default It's time for VH to represent fun again...

and by that I mean getting Dave back, record two or three new songs for all us VH faithful (although a new DLR fronted CD would be best) and allow us to download the songs/album via the internet.

In collaboration with the new songs, they could also package it with some rare VH stuff (Oakland '81 perhaps or the US Festival and maybe some promo vids that didn't make it onto the Best Of Video Collection like Pretty Woman and So This Is Love?).

Then they need to do a farewell tour with Dave at the helm and finish "Van Halen" (the band) the way it all began, with Dave, Ed, Al and Mike taking there final bows as a band together.

Then everyone can move on and be DJ's, solo artists and hot suace moguls.
"Question is,not does love exist, but when, she leaves, where she goes. I got a feeling she don't know either. Wait like the wind, watch where she blows..."

Sweet, bud. It's been too long.

I'll follow up with a 'III is underrated" thread.

First, VH hasn't done anything graceful since 1995. If they bowed out now it would be about as graceful an exit as Jerry Rice's from the NFL. VH is at a low right now, not a high. Further, if Ed can get his shit together, why can't they go on? The Stones are doing it at a much older age. I would like more VH music and more shows. To hell with bowing out.

I'd be more than happy to see them continue, but I'm beginning to wonder if what we had last year was the last of it.

I would be more than happy if the Sammy comments where availble to me in audio or video. When that happens, I will be able to make an intelligent decision on what I think is going on in the VH camp. Right now, thinking of all the rumours of Sammy vs. Van Halen, I would think that DLR has a better chance of a tour and an album with the boys. I said RUMOURS and not fact.
Dave barely has a band right now, he might just call Eddie.....that is a dream of mine.
Sammy calling Eddie would be cool, as long as it is for a full length Van Halen album and tour.
Either way, I want to hear some more Van Halen. Dave or Sammy or the grave.
    Just go for it!

Just my own personal preference, but I'd love to have them give it one more try with Dave. I know they've gotten mixed reviews, and it was nine years ago, but I thought the two new tunes on the first Best Of were incredible. Even if they did a quick EP (do they still make those?) with three or four songs, and then did just a few shows spread out over the country. I'd travel a ways to see one of those shows. I think a lot of people would.
