    Default Remaster Sammy's Stuff!

I just heard a rumor that Ed is working on remastering all the Sammy stuff. Is this true? It would explain what he's been doing since the tour last year. Also 5150 and OU812 definatley need it. I'm not sure about FUCK and Balance, those are pretty good untouched. I also heard that these are mainly for the japanese market, but we'll be able to possibly get them through the VH Store. Has anyone else heard this? Ineed some VH in my life, even if it's remastered shit, just something!

I think this was posted a while back, that they were going to be out in Japan first, I am pretty sure there was a thread. I hope they do it regardless. OU812 would be a whole new record.

Yeah, I thought I read it somewhere, but I could'nt remember if it was here, or somewhere else. That would explain Ed's recent hiatus from the public eye. I heard it may be would be out by then end of August, or maybe early september. Don't really know, just thought I would go fish'in and see what I caught.

That's just what the fucking world needs. Ed spending x number of years locked in 5150 remastering records that don't need remastering. Even tho I don't like the record at all, the only one that this would benefit at all would be OU812. The rest sound just fine. FFS Balance was released in 1995 and was produced excellently. I had it on yesterday and it sounds perfect.

Think about this.... They put out a 2 CD set last year with way too much Van Hagar on it. Definitely three new songs too many.

Point is, that stuff was remastered. So it's probably been done to the whole Cheddar catalog. Does that mean it's going to be released?

No. Because "Best of Both Turds" didn't sell. Demand's just not there.

Time to set the Van Hagar aside completely and get the Van HALEN box set going

BOBW has sold platinum. So in no way has it "not sold."
Outstanding sales? Certainly not. But moderate to solid sales, yes.

Obviously VH doesn't wanna do box sets, live CDs, live DVDs. Warner has been trying for years to get them to release that stuff but they have steadfastly refused. It goes beyond this singer and that singer. It seems to be a matter of principle.

Dave fans, Hagar fans and the few Cherone fans, we're together in this vast ocean of waiting and nothingness.

I agree. That album has great songs on it. I think it is one of the most underrated Hagar CD's. Remastering it would be the way to go. Feels So Good on BOBW is fantastic.

Exactly. Although, I've just about worn out all my copies of the Sam stuff, so if I gotta buy new copies, I'd LOVE for them to be updated sonically.

I already have a box set of the first six albums. Bought it through The Inside about 10 years ago.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.
