Question about burning an MP3 disc

    Hi guys!

Usually once I have bought every album from one artist, I rip their entire discography into MP3 files and burn them onto one CD-R disc. That way I can have all their albums on one disc for in the car (my car stereo reads MP3 discs). This works great except for one thing...there is a 2-second gap of silence between tracks, which is downright irritating for some Pink Floyd songs that are meant to flow together seamlessly. Also, imagine listening to VH's "Intruder" and then right before it gets into "Pretty Woman" it just stops dead for 2 seconds. That's unacceptable.

So I was wondering if anybody knows a way of burning seamless MP3 discs?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't even notice those gaps, I have 3k+ songs in my playlist in winamp and I got used to it.
I know when you burn just an audio CD you can rightclick on a tune in say Nero Express and select the length of a gap, with mp3s I don't know, it could be a default feature in your mp3-CD player.

it should be a feature in your preferences section under burning options.

itunes has no gap all the way up to a 5 second gap.

My cd burning program has an option to remove the gap only if they are .wav's. MP3's have the 'disc at once' option which is supposed to remove the gaps, but it didn't do anything for me. Maybe it's just my car's CD player...I dunno. Only way I can get around this problem is to rip the joining songs together as one track. In the case of Dark Side of the Moon, I gotta rip the entire CD as one track. Only problem with this is I can't skip songs.

I think Nero has a free version that you can download. One of the options is to put 0 seconds between the tracks you want.
