    Default Jimmy Barnes/Cold Chisel

Can anyone help me? I'm looking to expand my JB collection. I have "For the Working Class Man,Freight Train Heart, Two Fires and Heat. I don't own any CC. He has quite a catalog. I've never heard any of his work in Cold Chisel.
What are some "must have" titles?

Saw him open for ZZ Top on the Afterburner Tour. Most of you probably know that he was considered, if only for a second, to step in after Dave left.
I believe the quote from Ed was something like this: "he has a great voice but wouldn't be the right fit for VH."

Probably find it hard to get most of that outside australia.

Far as Cold Chisel goes, IMHO they were far superior to Barnes's solo efforts. Ian Moss is one of my favorite guitarists.

Theres an excellent greatest hits collection called 'Chisel'

Of the Albums, my favorites were

'Breakfast at sweethearts', 'East', 'Circus Animals' and 'Twentieth Century'

'Swingshift' and 'Last Stand' are good live albums

www.chaos.com.au might be of some use to you

I agree with Goo, Barnes's work with COLD CHISEL eclipses all of his solo material.

The "Chisel" compilation is a good place to start, followed by "East", "Circus Animals" & "Breakfast At Sweethearts". "Twentieth Century" is solid & you could also check out the "Last Wave Of Summer" reunion album the band released at the end of the 90's.

As for solo stuff, he's just issued a new album titled "Double Happiness" that is full of duets, but you might also like to grab a copy of "Bodyswerve", which was his debut solo album & his classic live disc "Barnestorming".

Last year along with Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake & Steve Morse, he formed a super group called LIVING LOUD and released a self titled album with a mixture of classic Ozzy Osbourne covers, mixed with original material.

    Hope that helps...

    Yep, that's true.

I'd start off with the 'Chisel' compilation also. Great item to have!

    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?

Hey everyone, thanks for the help. I found 'East' on vinyl today, used, for like $4. Havent had a chance to listen to it yet. It IS hard to find the CC stuff here (Denver). I have made trips to Amazon.com, to read up though.

Once again, thanks for the help..........
