    BOBW question

Who here thought it was unfair and inaccurate not to include VH3 in the booklet? like it or not, it's VH.

I guess that "Best of Both Worlds" was meant to imply jut two worlds--Dave and Sam. I guess they weren't gonna put a picture of VHIII in the booklet since it wasn't represented on the CD. It wouldn't have killed them to throw on Without You and include it but maybe they would just rather forget it ever happened.

A rare moment of lucidity within the VH camp.

Maybe they just wanted to spite Ray Danniels.

I agree that they should have put Without You on it, and shown VH 3 on the booklet.

Totally not cool to omit any reference to VH3.

The album was a joke as it was. A real rip-off for fans. How many times do they expect fans to buy JUMP, etc. And the liner notes sure tried to pretend that Diamond Dave isn't half the reason the band made it...

But I agree about VH3 only because nothing was worse than the Sam years...

As much as I'm not a Cherone fan, I gotta say that it was a bit of an insult to Gary to not acknowledge his involvement with VH. He deserved one track on there at least. Whether we like it or not, he is part of the VH history.

I tend to agree with Rikk, to an extent. Sure, it does seem kind of hypercritical to dismiss the III album, yet with the three new underwhelming tracks plus the live crap from "RHRN", there was more than enough room.

One can see that this thing clearly was a rush job, obviously...the "booklet" was a joke, plus where are any photos truly representing the "Best of Both Worlds"?

Selective amnesia? Or simply rewriting history?

Stupid or not, there should have been at least a mention of the stupid album and stupid era of Van Halen in the book. While in retrospect, there is no doubt that Eddie and Al look back and see that as the beggining of the end for Van Halen at the top of rock n roll. Damn, that was 10 years ago? I am getting old.

They'll include VHIII in the booklet in "...the best of 1978-2007" which will be released in 2008, including one unreleased clip of an unreleased song recorded by wolfie from a local radio..
Ah, not to mention that gem: "finish what ya started", it will fade out 3 minutes before the original included in ou812. Glenn Ballard will explain that "in 2004's BOBW we presented the song in its original form: back in 88 we had to fade it out manually. Now, in 2007 we have finally fully automized 5150 studio so we experimented its new potentiality by fading out that song using a "random fade plugin for protools". Eddie's excited with all that new technology"
In 2008 eddie will tell to a reporter: "what you've heard now it's just the tip of an iceberg. The singer? We are like brother, it's the best man i've ever worked with".
When asked he will not unveil the name of current singer but he will say that "we have tons of tape ready, it's almost 10000 CDs ready to be recorded"
