    Default Google Earth

Have any of you people seen this software??

    http://earth.google.com/

    It's really amazing!!

I only just just discovered Google Maps the other day but Google Earth runs rings around that.

Is there anything those guys at Google can't do??

I downloaded this software two weeks ago, and it blew my mind. It feels like you're literally flying like a bird. The tilt feature is the most impressive aspect of it, and turning on 3D terrain...damn, just awesome. Everyone should try this software and go place to place in your city.

    You're right...

I felt like I was riding a missile. Quite eerie really.

I was able to see a good satellite image of my house.

That is a pretty cool program. When I first found out about this program it was called Keyhole and I tried posting an image of the Van Halen compound, but it stirred some controversy and was taken down. The image was not really that clear and gave no indication to the actual location so I'm not sure why it was so controversial.

Anyway, Microsoft has answered with a similar program that does not require downloading and works pretty well; it's called Virtual Earth.

Been using it for a few weeks now. It's an awful lot of fun. There's also a NASA program called World Winds that's similar, but has more topography features and overlays.

They remind me a lot of the 3d modeling software used in the weather industry.
