Default Van Halen morning on Howard Stern

This morning on Stern, Richard Christy (ex Iced Earth) was playing drums to Hot for Teacher, while Fred played the guitar, and Sal attempted to play bass. Howard wanted to see if Richard could immitate Alex's into. Wasn't too bad.

Then they payed a woman $500 to have Richard spank the into on some girls behind.

Pretty funny, and always good to hear some VH on a big time show.

    Default Heard It...Sorta

I was on the train on my way to work and would you know it the train drove through a tunnel cutting off my reception during the bit. BLAST! I heard a tease of it before they conveniently cut to commercial break and it didn't sound half bad. They also talked about how great "How For Teacher" was yesterday for a few minutes, calling it the "Good 'ol days". Sigggghhhh.

They also talked about VH yesterday and wondered if Alex could still play that. They also went on to talk about Ed and Wolfy and how much pressure there must be to not only be EVH son but to also play guitar. Nothing all that interesting talked about though and nothing new news wise. They just talked about how great the band was.

Apart from the drums, that was absolutely pathetic. Fred couldn't even play the riff right.

In fairness, he did say he couldn't play it beforehand. Just doing his part for the show. Richard was pretty good though.

Maybe I just liked it because it made me feel like VH was relevant again.

I didn't really hear what Fred said, I kinda caught it in the middle. In Fred's defense as well, he is a very good guitar player.

I was surprised how long that bit went on. Howard's talked about that song before and how cool he thinks it is.

...and...Fred said he sort of knew the riff, but couldn't play that "hammer-on thing"...

Today they were back on the VH topic again. Joked around that Howard should be the new VH singer since Dave is Taking over his job. He also talked about how those guys are his idols and he always wanted to be like DLR and have his job and now DLR will have Howards job.

And this morning, while Gary was playing "Stump the Booie" (basically name that tune), Gary couldn't identify I can't drive 55.
Pretty weird considering that he knows almost all the songs played.
