    Default Favorite Tone?

Ive been thinking about this for a while know and ive always wondered what your guys's favorite tones are? And not only tone, but style too

    Heres mine:

    EVH: obviously

George Lynch: For some reason, georges tone and style have always attracted me to his playing. Even though he is one of the many 80's metal shredders, hes probably one of the best 80's metal shredders. His tone is bassy like none other and he knows how to use that bass too. Hes really in a category all his own when it comes to his tone.

Warren DeMartini: What can I say about the guy? The intro to "Lay It Down" says it all. Even though his style is kinda the same as lynch's in the sence that they plan out the solos, the tone is very, very crunchy and not alot of bass and I think he pulls it off really well.

Dimebag (RIP): When you can get your guitar to sound like a friggin chainsaw, you know you have an awesome tone! Just the power behind his playing is unbelieveable! Have a good listen to cowboys from hell and you'll see what im talking about

Satch/Vai: These guys are tied for a couple of reasons. 1. their tones and styles are really, really different but you can hear alot of emotion in the playing and when ever they go into a solo you can hear it just pour out of them. Ive always been deciding which tone I prefer more because with satch, you get this very bluesy yet shredding tone. But with vai, you get all kinds of weird shit. Personally, I prefer the vai with whitesnake

SRV: The guy is a genious when it comes to the blues, more specifically the southern texas blues and no one else did it like him

Reb Beach: When I first heard 17 and madeline, the first thing I said to myself is "who is playing that?" It helps that his jazz influence credits his playing but when he lays out a chorus section, all bets are off and his solos arent that bad either.

Post what you guys think about your favorites!

BOISE STATE BRONCOS! - They're awesome. Deal with it!

11/16/04 - VAN HALEN in Boise, Idaho. Changed my life forever

8/8/06 - Sammy Hagar and the Wabos w/Michael Anthony in Boise, Idaho. Sam and Mike still kick ass

Other than Eddie, I'd have to agree with either Warren DeMartini or Steve Vai.

Gary Moore on"Over the hills and far away". Doesn't matter how quiet you play the CD, it still screams.
Ed's solo on "Beat it", "Right now" and the end of "Drop dead legs"
Randy Rhoads on "Crazy Train" and "Mr Crowley"
    Prince on "The morning papers"
Steve Vai on "The attitude song" and "Blue powder"
    Alex Lifeson on "Limelight"
Joe Satriani on "Always with me, always with you"
the solo on a Go West tune by Allan Murphy, that guy flat out rocked with the whammy bar...sad early death
the solo at the end of the Carpenters song "Goodbye to Love"
Francis Dunnery going spastic on "Rose Marie" and "Once around the world"
    and on and on

Well I pretty much agree with everything being put out here but I will give my favorite specific tones.

Eddie - Unchained. yeah that is a tough one.
George Lynch - Sleepless Night from Back for the Attack
Warren Dimartini - Lay It Down
Nuno Bettancourt - There is no God - Waiting for the Punchline
Randy Rhoads - Tonight outro solo.
