Just curious what most think of this song. Personally, it's my favorite song off of OU812.

Cool lyrics. Cool guitar solo.

The Boston Americans (1901)
The Boston Somersets (1902)
The Boston Pilgrims (1903-1906)
The Boston Red Sox (1907-present) - Proof

The Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets whatever you want to call them, have NEVER displayed "SOX" anywhere on their caps, jerseys, or merchandise, therefore they shouldn't be referred to as such. However, the White Sox have used "SOX" since 1912.

The SOX are in Chicago...we just allow the Pilgrims/Americans/Somersets to use the name.

See, I think the lyrics particularly weak. Too preachy for me.

Music is good though.

Overall this might be my favorite VH song. The lyrics are great, the music is great, everyone was on the ball for this one. I know the mix is weak but this is really a great song.

The not-exactly-live B side from RHRN era was much better than the crappily produced OUsoundlikepoo version.

Agreed. But the Pay-Per-View version was the best I've ever heard. I personally don't like the album version that well. More bass is needed.

If and when they remaster OU812, it'll better. I usually have to turn my shit way up just to hear anything.

Do any of you boot collectors remember on the 84 tour during DLR's solo spot, Ed was playing a keyboard vamp?

Is it just me, or does it sound like the seed for Mine All Mine, which IMO is an awesome song.

The keyboard part on the '84 tour sounds similar. It's a cool idea. I think Eddie later turned the rhythmic and playing ideas into MINE ALL MINE. It was definitely the kind of song he wanted to put together.

I think it's a great opener for OU812...they wanted to show that they were still experimenting right off the bat. OU812 is my favorite Hagar album, and this song has great music, playing...and for once I actually enjoy Hagar's lyrics. His singing is great too. It's not the all-time keyboard anthem that JUMP was, but I almost always like Eddie's playing on the keyboard.

One of my all time favorite Van Halen songs. Love it!
Though I agree with FORD. The live B Side version off of the RHRN single is much better!

I've always thought Mine All Mine was a great song with biting lyrics. Seems like I remember Sammy saying that he got so fed up with religion, with the whole Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart things in full force at the time, that he just sat down one night with a bottle of tequila and a big chip on his shoulder and the next morning he had the lyrics.
