Default Live Without A Net Audience

I did a search on this and did not find anything but I was watching Live Without A Net the other day for like the millionth time and I am more and more drawn to lookin at the audience behind the band....there are some real grumpy gits! (as we would say in England )

I dont doubt this has been discussed before and that often this descends into Dave Vs Sammy crap but I am still interested to hear peoples views on it.

Some of them literally stand arms crossed like they are the school bully about to push the geeks head down down the toilet! Geeez you have paid to see the show why not just TRY and enjoy it???

Maybe its just that they have poor seats? They shoulda been pleased that half of them are immortalised on possibly the greatest Live concert footage of all time!

I love it after the first song when it pans over the audience and there's those two guys in vests down at the front of the shot one of who totally falls over the other into the crowd.

The New Halen Coliseum no longer exists. It was demolished in the summer of 2002. The last band to perform there was Tool and they tore it down the next day.

Man - I'm with you there! I saw VH on the three UK dates in 93.......man, the gig at the NEC - I have NEVER been in a crowd so up for it at a gig. I was right in front of Ed and the crush was much more intense than any of the gigs I've seen there (Metallica, AC/DC etc etc). Even the look on VH's faces told a story...it really was 'Whoaaa what the....!'.

When I saw LWAN for the first time, I thought about how reserved the crowd was.
Ed: Actually, the last record I bought was by a band called Brand X
Al: I make my living by viciously attacking something
    Mike: ...actually I don't drink.
    Sammy: Are these yours Eddie?
Dave: Look at that ankle - dirty girl!

I was in the audience for that show and there were plenty of people having a great time. It was one of the loudest audiences I've heard at a concert. Second only to Van Halen in Hartford in 1984. The LWAN show was great though. Alot of people walking around dressed like Eddie with the Wife beater tanks and baggy pants on.

In fairness - it all comes down to the editing.....it certainly sounds loud in some of the bits, and some of the women look superb! ;-)

Why did they focus on the bearded history teacher who looks bored out of his mind though?

Yeah that I can't figure out. He must have been there with one of his kids or something. Why they chose to show him is beyond me. As for the two guys on the floor that one of them kept falling down. I think I saw them at the Worcester shows last year right up front again too on both nights.

The inside from what I heard is empty. A couple years back they auctioned off alot of the stuff inside, I was considering going there and buying the seats I sat in for LWAN. Never did it though. Last I heard they were going to try and save the building for something. I think a college was going to take it over.

I noticed that too after my upteenth time watchin this one!!

Don'tcha just love those feathery do's??!!

I thought just the people with the sucky seats looked p/o'd. I could be wrong tho as I usually am!!

You know tho, when you go and see shows like that, you're just one of the crowd, takin in a show. It never occurs to you (or at least to me) that you may be a part of music history in the making!!!

I never thought anything of being in the audience at that 81 Oakland show, and now I hear it's the stuff of legend. At least in our VH world within a world here!! I just thought at the tiime that it was awesome to see them live!!!

Imagine hearing Foreigner's "Women" song fade out to the wails of Edward's guitar!!! Awesome!!!

Anyone ever notice the guy playing air guitar and dancing around his seat on mikey's side of the stage during 5150?
