Default Van Halen's best lyrical work?

Out of all the eras, what is Van Halen's best lyrical work. Also voting for Unchained just based on the riff alone makes you a crap head. Actually give some sort of reasoning behind it. Here are a couple of my votes

    Secrets
The lyrics here are so great. It's the love song you can sing along to without feeling embarassed to be singing it! The song is so clever.

    The Seventh Seal
Dark lyrics. It's the kind of song where you understand what's happening but if someone asks you to explain it, it takes you 5 hours to get out your exact explaination of it

    Mine All Mine
Another song with clever lyrics. Until FUCK, I think this was Sam's best lyrical work.

Dave - Secrets or In A Simple Rhyme

Sammy - Mine All Mine, Right Now or Feelin'

Gary - Year To The Day

"20 minutes (late to work)? Shit. Last year I woke up three weeks too late.
My advice is to go for the alien abduction story. Look bemused, dishevelled and on the verge of tears as you recount your story of intrusive and degrading medical tests.
Worked for me anyway. I still have colleagues asking me what it is like to fuck a green womanoid with seventeen breasts.
Alternatively just walk in and inform everyone that alcoholism is indeed a disease and that they should be less judgemental and perhaps a little more supportive."
    - graeme on the addiction to this place.

"something tells me that after the nuclear holocaust, there'll be twinkies, cockroaches, and a dave vs. sammy argument going on somewhere".

"in my best "saw" scary movie voice: "oh, yes, there will be beagles."

I think you guys have covered all the "meaningful" lyrics, so I'll throw in a fun song lyrically,Dirty Movies. Just clever and witty, Dave at his most playful.

    Agreed.

Let's face it, Dave was on fire with Fair Warning. They all were. Al's snare in Mean Street, Mikey's bass in Push, Ed's axe through all of it, Dave's screams in Hear about it Later...

    still the penultimate effort.

Hoo ra. It's okay for the boys to be at odds with each other in the studio, damn straight. Humans Being, Fair Warning, 1984, Balance...

Hell, at this point, given the bad moon rising once again, we could get the magnum opus. Imagine, if you will, a WACF for the new millenium, or a Balance II with no keys or ballads, ala Learning to See and Me Wise Magic...a little more zen headed our way.

The mind boggles at the possibilities.
