Is that the boxing one with Clint Eastwood?
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

It was Best Picture last year for a good reason.

Never saw it, but will definitely rent it and maybe buy it in the near future. Can't go wrong with Big Clint, even if he isn't toting a six-shooter, wearing a rug, and smoking a ceegar.

Finally got around to watching it! REALLY good movie.... I thought
the first half was good, but the second half is where the movie took
off. It appears some were put off by the way the second half unfolded.
Not me... I think it is where the movie started to really take off. Great proformances from Clint and Swank. Who would have known that the
girl from the crappy Karate Kid 4 could give such a performance It could
boost her into the elite catagory.

Went from good to great in the second half.

2 oscars for best actress, I think she's already in the elite category
    "Suck a fat one, faggot."

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

I rented this movie last night, I loved it!! It did deserve best picture and every other award it got.

My only beef with the film was this. I wanted to know if anything happened to the other boxer that gave her the cheap shot thus ending her carrier.

    SPOILER!

Well, some question Clint "killing her" at the end of the movie. WHat
about his relationship with his daughter? How did it get so bad that
she will not even respond to him?

Some wanted a feel good movie. Those movies come a dime a dozen
so why would somebody bash this one for being alittle different? Makes
little sense to me. Why don't they just go back and watch Rocky or
    Rudy? Sheesh!

Watched it last night. Superb movie. I'm buying it. Very emotional. I put 2 and 2 together very early in the movie and I knew what was going to happen, but the performances still captivated my attention.

SPOILER COMMENT AND QUESTION. PLEASE SKIP IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.

did anyone suddenly wonder right up to the end whether Hilary Swank was actually his daughter after all and that she just didn't know. All the scenes with her family were so full of hate i was wondering if they had agreed never to tell her the truth and that his intial reluctance and then need to be close to her was because of this. it was only the last scene where morgan freeman is writing the letter that i was convinced this wasn't the case. i just had this feeling for the last half hour of the movie. loved it though and fro once a good movie wins the awards, not the "pretend" good movie.
