Default Runnin' w/ the Devil solo

Ok, hope I don't make a fool of myself here... I've been playing almost 20 years, but a)Never learned VH songs b/c I couldn't play them well enough b)Never got that good

The first two (and last two) notes of each lick can either be played on separate strings on the 14th and 12th fret, or the whole solo can actually be played on the 2nd string. Anybody know what is "right"? The three string version is initially easier, but any time you can play something all on one string it seems like it "cleans up" better once you really know it.

You can play it on one string but you'll miss the subtleties of it if you do. They're both very melodic breaks, it's about touch and feel with them, and if you drop out the those extra notes you are losing some of it. No offense to your playing at all, but you should be able to play it cleanly without having to play it differently, it's not that hard.

Oh, I wasn't planning to skip the notes... just play them way down on the neck. Don't think its prbly necessary tho.

That would be the hard way. Play with more economy. Accuracy there you will find.

I've only seen this tabbed out one way, and it's the right way. Don't play it on the same string, this is one of the easiest VH solos and like Brett said you should be able to play it cleanly, and if you can't, practice until you can, but do it correctly.
