Default Floyd Rose Screams and Squeals

Hey guys, what are some cool floyd rose tricks that ed does? I know how to do pinch harmonics and artificial harmonics with the dive at the end, but other than that, I dont know how to do the screams that ed does. I was watching LWAN last night and this morning and I just cant figure out how he does it. So any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure how to explain this using all sophisticated guitar lingo... but what i do basically is a pinch harmonic on the G string, second fret and i bend it about half a step to a full step and just dive down on the whammy bar like crazy with lots of vibrato on the way down... and when i say vibrato i mean with the whammy bar not with the hand holding the note. this is all done fairly fast so give it a try if any of this makes sense... sorry thats kind of a shitty explanation but i tried haha.

The Elephant is the 5th fret/3rd string harmonic, 7th fret/2nd string harmonic and 12th fret/1st string harmonic. Turn down the volume, hit the harmonics, lower the bar and then turn the volume up as you bring the bar back up.

Also, a cool car-sound effect I got from a Brad Gillis guitar player magazine lesson was to turn down the volume, hit the 7th fret harmonic on the 5th & 6th strings, lower the bar then bring it up as you raise the volume. You want to raise it slow and bring it down again to simulate the gear shifting sounds. With the right gain & volume it sounds pretty cool Better than the cheating open D, A & E like in "Kickstart My Heart."

    Good luck!

This is a variation on one method, but cool for stage & showmanship--
Satriani is the master at this.

    (Applies to a right-handed technique)

    1. Push down whammy bar until the brink of strings slackening with LEFT hand.

    2. Do a pinch harmonic with the right hand on an open string.

    3. Pull the bar up slowly with left hand.

Also, is it still an invention if you never saw it before and then later on someone else was doing it? I "came up" (a few years too late ) with the
"Lizard down the Throat" move that Satriani does. Basically, slide you fingers up a string and try to keep the same pitch while depressing the whammy bar.
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

this is how i do em. Do a wammy bar dive on the g string, and when coming up, lightly fret a harmonic (for example the 5th fret), then add whammy again for efect. Its kinda hard to explain, but fun to do.

I usually get the best squeals on the G string on the 4th fret (and bend it), then use the whammy bar.

I am glad to see another person who uses the 4th fret for squeals. I also like to do tap harmonics from the 4th fret and alternating taps on the 9th and 11th frets and then whammy the hell out of it !!!
