    The CULT Thread

One of my favourites bands growing up in the 80's. Great riffs, some out there lyrics and good ol' fashioned loud music. I just started to learn to drive when S.S.S. came out which is still probably one of the best driving tunes. Ian Astbury's voice was great too bad they couldn't keep things together. Anybody else have some memories?

Huge Cult fan here. Their last album was great-one of the best ones. Damn shame Ian has to go off and play Morrisson. Isn't there all ready a thread on this?? Could be wrong

I thought for sure there was one started since January, but I'll be damned if I can find it...

Maybe it existed last year and was lost in the hack.

I was just blasting She Sells Sanctuary the other day. That whole Love album is damn good. There was a rumor awhile ago that Bill Duffy and Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains were thinking about doing an album. I would have picked that one up in a heartbeat.

The Cult is one of my favorite bands as well! I missed them touring, which I still regret!!! If they ever go out again, I'll be there!

She Sells Sanctuary is just one of the greatest rock songs ever. It is timeless. Sonic Temple is great - I can't go on a road trip without it. LOVE removal machaa-aane!

Love album is one of my favourites, still a little bit underground minus of course She Sells Sanctuary.
Sucka, I think I remember seeing Duffy and Cantrell at Cabo either 2 years ago or last New Years in his picture bonanza. There was talk they were going to do something, but I don't know if that panned out. Would definitely be a good listen.

Drug Tongue, Rise, Fire Woman, Here Comes the Rain all are fabulous!! I was able to use a line from Drug Tongue when I broke up w/this girl ("I despise, all of your lies..."). Also, I thought it was cool that a Cult song was used in "Singles" (Sancutuary perhaps? brain fart here). I was Ian would stop his Jim Morrision rendition and get back to playing kick ass rock. Thats another thing I liked about The Cult-it was hard to label their music-alternative? hard rock?

I saw them at the Santa Barbara Bowl with Stabbing Westward and Fuel around 2000 or so on the "Beyond good and evil" tour. KILLER show. Towards the end, Billy Gibbons came out and jammed with the Cult. Unreal show... just unreal.....
