Default The VHLinks 5150 VivaFest Volunteer list

I dont think we've come up with a name for the Annual event yet, or a logo..
and there are tons of other ideas floating out there that need to be revealed as well..

So this thread is designed for you to sound off with your idea's of what you'd like to see at an annual event, what you can do to make that happen and most importantly, a list of volunteers who are willing to help out in the cause.

I am not real big on a whole bunvh of scheduled events..in my experience, it takes away from the relaxation.
I think a Big party get together one night is good , and hopefully a concert of some sort for another night.
So, we need people who can get the atomic punks there or some other great band who is willing to go for the sake of it or for minimal money..for the love of VH..

I also want to have a sustained, respectfull campaign of emailing to those connected W/Vh..like irving Azoff and Ed, Al,Mikey,Sammy, DLR, and anyone else who is in contact with them..i want at least 5 volunteers for that who will commit to remaining respectful and diligent and to continue the campaign until a real relationship is established and the band at least acknowledges what we are doing in their honor.

Also, i need some volunteers who would be willing to do a little e-legwork and help in making a list of interesting things to do in vegas, who to contact, how muc it costs, etc, including things outside vegas, such as the hoover damn, the chicken ranch( ), etc..so that when members go, they have a good refernece and arent flailing around in frustration...

Also, anyone skilled in making tshirts and such would be good...and..well, lets just start there and see what happens..

I hear ya, Pert...I'll have to call a couple of my buddies but I might be able to cover a lot of the bases you described with just a few phone calls, just need a little time...

    Hey pert,

I'd be willing to do some legwork on the "tourist" thing. I'm sure there is much to do besides casinos. I'll take the ball and run with it if no one else has already... Let me know....

I'm out in Vegas fairly often. I'll probably be out there 3 or 4 times before the actual event. I'm more than happy to scope out some things while I'm there. Next trip is mid-August. Just let me know what type of thing we're looking for. (Night spots, hotels, shows etc.)

I'd love to try to write to the band / management but I would have no way of knowing how to start. E-mail addresses and what not. I know we have someone here who is Sammy's cousin or something like that, he's probably our best bet for recognition from somebody inside the VH camp.

I'm tentatively gonna be out in Vegas prolly sometime around November or so. Although that might be too late to be of any help, I'll CERTAINLY keep my eyes and ears peeled for KEWL stuff to do and places to visit...

The Punks play fairly often at Sunset Station in Vegas....

However, it would be cooler to book them for our OWN private gig--Brett and Top Timmy are their webmasters, so maybe they can help us out!

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

now we're talking...this is a great start..i called the number, spoke to 3 people in quick succession, told her i was a personal friend and she took my number.
chances are they wont call back, but you gotta start somewhere..
she asked if i wanted to book the band, i told her i was interested in some charity events and such...
So, that's attempt no. 1, 9,999 to go..who's gonna help with emails ?
we'll get the addresses, i need people with the respect, the smarts and ,most importantly, the commitment!!

As for the list of things to see and do, anyone can find how to get to casino's, but i want good stuff as well, like the chicken ranch, wildwest towns, good shows, not crap, good restaurants, good bars at what casino's, etc..it'll all take time, which is all we have for now, so go, be adventurous, be entrepenaurial, enjoy and learn something you can share!

im looking for several people to be on the email committee.

and as for the Punks, etc, im not interested in spending any money unless we have to. i'd rather they volunteer for the cause and the gesture and so on..we'll see

by the way, when i got put through to the woman who obviously handles VH's stuff, i asked for "mr. Von Haylen" and she asked my name, which i gave as Anthony Perticelli, and she asked if i wanted Alex or Ed, and that she would try to get a message to them..
i lied and said i was a friend of ed, but not Al...

    toomuch pressure, not enough practice!!!

where'd the number come from neways?

I'll be glad to help with emails and touristy stuff. I'm really good at emailing people and 'nudging them. I comes with being a consultant. We're a persistant lot and fairly good at kissing butt. That's how we keep working. I also have a friend who is a travel agent so she can help me get some ideas and point me in some good directions for points of interest for side trips if you want such as hoover damn, etc. I know if you have enough interest and enough people we would get a decent price on a bus for the trip. Just give me a list of places you are interested in. I can also help with the hotel and stuff like that if you want as I have set up sales meetings before when I worked as an Administrative Asst.

    Voiv, wrong thread..i think that's 2 or 3 down!!

ok JR, and sunya and anyone else who wants to join the email effort.
First, im not houdini or Kreskin, so i dont have all the addy's...that's part of the help we need..getting them..one is irving azoff's office. the other is the VH official website,(as if anyone ever looks there), others aregoing to have to be found.
So, show me your persistance and level of commitment and find two different addy's to send things to and send me a PM . i will compile a list, along with some other's we have and we will get started...

same goes for nayone with any idea's or volunteering..thx
