    Default Alex on LWAN

I am currently watching LWAN and I forgot how kick ass Alex's drum solo was!!!

I am a guitar guy but I am amazed how good he is...damn he can play.

I remember seeing the solo live during the 5150 tour at the Fabulous Forum and thinking, "Shit, the fucker sounds like a goddamn motorcycle!".

I think I'm the only person here who thinks that Alex's solo on RHRN is better than LWAN.

All I know is that after watching that solo I was in complete shock, in my opinion one of, if not the best drum solo ever committed to tape.

Never really dug either drum solo from LWAN or RHRN but when I saw them in 93 I was stunned, that was the coolest drum solo ever..the one from the toronto PPV comes close but if you can find a tape of the 93 solo...it is just awsome

I agree. The RHRN solo is much better, partly because he wasn't using electronic drums.- I hate those things

As first watched that solo, I was thinking: "That can`t be live. That sound has to come from tape or whatever..." Never before heard or saw anybody playing that fast.

I hate to say this, but I still have doubts that he actually plays that fast part at the end. (Notice there's never a close-up of him doing it? on LWAN & RHRN)
My favorite is from the Toronto PPV.
I'd have to hear the '93 one again. I don't have it though. Anyone got it?
I remember seeing him doing that '93 solo and thinking how awesome it was. The '95 solo (Toronto) I think is better because I have access to it. If I remember correctly there was a cool light show with it.

Check the Ž89 Tokyo concert, & youŽll see a close-up... basically thereŽre single stroke rolls combined with doubles; IŽm sure he also combines them with some paradiddles. Alex is a very rudimental-technical player... some may think he just plays on 2 & 4, but actually he is very musical & technical drummer. Number 1 in my list!!
