it is pretty nice. Ive got one in my main warmoth and it hasnt let me down yet. Good mix of bass and treble and perfect for getting the vh sound, especially around the 84-5150-ou812 era

BOISE STATE BRONCOS! - They're awesome. Deal with it!

11/16/04 - VAN HALEN in Boise, Idaho. Changed my life forever

8/8/06 - Sammy Hagar and the Wabos w/Michael Anthony in Boise, Idaho. Sam and Mike still kick ass

I have a Hamer T-51 and a Carvin Bolt Kit loaded up with these. The difference in wood (ash vs alder) is the difference in the tone. The ash is a bit brighter and the alder a bit warmer. I love the pickups. Good sustain, good balance, perfect for me.

I recently replaced my Gibson '57 Classic Plus with a Screamin' Demon in my Les Paul. I did not like it in the Paul, so I used the Semour Duncan 21 day swap policy and got a Pearly Gates. It's a better match than either of the other choices. I have the Pearly Gates neck pickup on the way. Anyway, point is, that if you don't like it, you can swap it.
