    Default Sevendust

I'm personally not much of a Sevendust fan, but just before the old boards went down, the subject of Clint Lowery's departure came up. I had previously mentioned that I went to high screwl with the Lowery Brothers, hence my interest.

Well, Clint's new band is Dark Blue. I tried to post the link to Blabbermouth, but the URL is so fricking long it won't work for some reason. If you are interested in reading the Blabbermouth story, just hop on over and search "Sevendust" and you'll get it. This new info was post January 10.

    The gist of the article:

They've signed with the notorious Warner Brothers family of artists. (No mention of this on the WB website). Ben Grosse (Filter, Fuel, Sevendust, Alter Bridge) is producing/mixing their album.

    The Band:

Brett Hestla (ex-Creed, Virgos Merlot) on vocals
Will Hunt (ex-Skrape, Tommy Lee) on drums
    Clint Lowery (ex-Sevendust) on guitar
Corey Lowery (ex-Stereomud, Stuck Mojo) on bass
    Troy McLawhorn (ex-doubleDrive) on guitar

Hestla says if you liked any of those bands, you'll like this.

I didn't know Clint or Corey all that well, but I played with Troy in a "keg party" band and all I can say is he's more than capable, I hope he makes it this time because this is the only thing he's ever done for a living. Corey has always been crazy, one helluva bassist. This could be pretty interesting.

Still no word on why Clint left Sevendust, although I've read more than one web rumor that his partying ways had something to do with it. All I can say about that is I've known these guys to enjoy an adult beverage or two. Whatever.

    Anyway, that is all.

Did anybody ever buy their live acoustic disc? It's the only album they put out that I don't have, I just can't see Sevendust acoustic.

Ok for some reason their song "Crucified" reminds me of the the band In Living Colour (SP?) Maybe it's just his voice.... don't know.

Lajons voice may sound like Corey Glovers but Sevendust musically sounds nothing like Living Colour imo. Two totally different styles.

I think it's just that particular song that reminded me of them. Listen to it again and see what you think.

i do think LJ s voice sounds like Corey Glovers in alot of songs. but i cant see Living Colour doing a song with the chorus ...."dont you feel like a bitch? dont talk about shit you ll never be."

ive listened to that song alot , its one of my favorites,,,,,vocally it sounds like corey.... musically and structurally i dont hear it, it sounds like 7D to me.

I've always thought Corey Glover would have been a good singer for =VH=.

The latest I 'm hearing and reading in various rock circles is that Clint's new band, which was previously called "Dark Blue", is now going with "Dark New Day" for a name. Supposedly an album is finished and set for June release on Warner Brothers.

And I guess that Sonny guy from Snot is Sevendust's new guitarist as a permanent replacement.

    Later...

    Default Sevendust

Anyone here like Sevendust? I think they're a fantastic and unique band. The drummer is amazing. I've seen them live as well and they're put on a great show. They're releasing their 5th album in october and if you want, go to www.sevendust.info and the new song will start playing. I think it's bad ass. What do you think?

I adore the living shit out of this band!!

Flew out to Vegas a couple months ago just to see them play. I can't tell you how much I admire what these guys are doing.

Face to Face has been playing in my car for about a month straight now.
